I got this key fob rather than going to the dealer, and was pleasantly surprised that it was easily programmable! The locksmith did mention that the metal used is harder than usual, so keep that in mind when taking the blade to be cut.

After thorough review on the Amazon website, I was certain and the system told me this was the correct key fob for my vehicle. The BMW dealership was not able to program keyfob, making it unusable.Item was returned no problems and in original packaging. Great price, if you have access to a company that will be able to program it so the key will provide vehicle codes correctly to the BMW maintenance tracking system.

I have yet to get this key programmed. And of course BMW is nor cheap. But we will see.. Hopefully a 3rd party can do it for half the price.

The key # assignment is so far off on these it’s not even funny. When I was trying to program mine it was assigned to #256 out of the box.. If anyone knows BMW’s then you know there are only 10 slots available for key fobs, I am unable to assign this key to a slot needed (2-10) since I already have #1 Also I have the newest Autel with the newest software for just about every make/model (it’s dealer level) I’m able to program any and everything except this aftermarket key. I’ve been doing this type of work for 15 years and I also know you get what you pay for.However the only good thing and the reason for 3 stars is, Your existing board will fit and work in this fob case without issue and that’s ultimately what I ended up doing. Just used the case and threw out what was left. So for the $25 it was worth it for me

YMMV but it did not work for the subject vehicle. As a point of reference, my local dealer is quoting $350 for a full OEM replacement.
