Very sticky but fun for kids
I helped two 11 yos the first run, and they were able to do it themselves the second run. They had a lot of fun and it tasted "delicious" [she says].Super sticky and messy, but clean up was worth it.

Delicious and fun Mochi kit was worth every penny!
We enjoyed everything. The instructions were easy to follow. The flavors were very yummy. And we did it over a few days so it was nice to get such a great value from this kit. Thank you

A little fiddly, but a cute kit
The Mochi Ice Cream Kit is a well-assembled DIY set that includes most of what you need to make homemade mochi, including a circle cutter and flavoring powders for variety. It does require a few additional items like ice cream, plastic wrap, and wax paper, so be sure to have those on hand.Despite the kit being thoughtfully put together, I personally struggled to get the technique right. The mochi dough remained too sticky to roll out properly, making it difficult to assemble the ice cream-filled mochi. My spouse gave it a try as well, but we both ran into the same issue. That said, other reviewers seem to have had good success, so this may come down to user skill rather than the kit itself. One downside was that I misplaced the instructions and had trouble tracking them down online—something to keep in mind if you're someone who tends to misplace small papers! Overall, while my attempt didn’t go as planned, the kit itself seems promising for those willing to practice the technique.

Not bad but could be better
There are a few things to note here. Overall it’s a good kit to get you started. All you need in addition to the kit is store bought ice cream and water. That’s fine though, it’s easy to get and they are cheap additions. My complaint is 1, the instructions are printed so small it’s difficult to read. And 2, the circle cutter provided in the kit is far too small for the ice cream mold also provided in the kit. I recommend cutting out two circles of mochi per ice cream ball and pinch the two mochi pieces together to wrap the ice cream. Luckily the recipe and ingredients make plenty of mochi to make it work. If you keep these things in mind, I think this is a decent kit to make mochi with your kids, friends, or for a date night.

Ice cream (ingredients) not included
This kit is really just for making the shell of the mochi - you need to purchase your own ice cream for the filling. Not a huge deal but when I buy a kit that's advertising making ice cream mochi's you would think all of those ingredients would be already included. I guess this way though you can choose your own favorite flavor as the filling instead of just a basic vanilla being included. Having to buy your own ice cream also adds to the cost, and this was not the cheapest kit to begin with. Overall though it was definitely a fun project and we enjoyed the end result.

Real Naturals Store Mochi Ice Cream Kit
This review is for the Mochi Ice Cream Kit DIY food kit Mochi maker (Makes 5 flavors: Original, Chocolate, Matcha, Strawberry, Melon) Includes Japanese Mochi flour & tools. Gifts for foodies daifuku Japanese desert snack foods. Makes 32 MochisThis mochi kit is a fun and tasty project. It comes with 4 packs of rice flour, 4 packs of potato flour for dusting, 4 packs of flavoring (strawberry, chocolate, melon and matcha), a sphere ring for cutting and a silicone mold (to shape your ice cream). The instructions are fairly easy to follow except when they say knead (use a spatula or wooden spoon) for anyone that has never made mochi before. Make sure to keep kneading (mixing vigorously) in between microwaving until translucent for a more chewy texture. This turn out delicious and fun to make. I think this can make a great gift for anyone mochi lovers.

Fun activity
This mochi ice cream kit was a blast to do with my kid, even though it made a bit of a mess and is quite sticky. The instructions are very small and hard to read, but easy enough to follow. After running through it once my kid was able to start making them on his own. He thinks they are delicious and is very happy with them. Personally I think the taste leaves a little to be desired, but the taste wasn't the whole point of it. Would recommend.
