Affordable Portable Hardshell Kayak!
Honestly, the only reason I bought this kayak on Amazon was to get the color I wanted that was out of stock on the manufacturer's site-- so, yeah, it was more expensive than it might've been. Even so, it was STILL waaay cheaper and more durable than a recreational kayak from That Other Folding Kayak company AND the Tucktec out-performs every inflatable kayak I've ever tried when it comes to tracking. That is, moving in a straight line when you paddle, as opposed to inflatables where you often have to constantly correct the back end swinging out and knocking you off-course to the point of exhaustion. The Tucktec is surprisingly quick for its width, you can run it up on rocks with no significant damage, and it instantly charms the heck out of everyone who tries it. It's light! It's low-priced! You can throw it in the trunk of your tiny car!BUT-- you're really gonna want to make some mods that WILL impact portability and weight. Bare minimum, upgrade the seat. Throw some auto edge trim on the edges-- makes it look more "finished" and is way easier on the hands when assembling and using the kayak. I upgraded the r-clips that came with it. Etc etc. There's tons of great videos online from all over the world about fun ways to customize your Tucktec. I highly recommend checking those out! Also, since you're saving all this money on your kayak, it's the perfect excuse to buy a -really- nice paddle. Hit a local kayak shop, tell them you have a 30" wide kayak, and get the best paddle you can that won't break the bank and result in you eating nothing but ramen for the next month. Seriously. BUY THE VERY BEST PADDLE YOU CAN AFFORD. You'll thank me later. :D

Good marks for portabilty but there are some drawbacks
This is a pretty usable kayak and extremely portable. I was able to take two whole kayaks and all the other associated gear in our minivan wirh room to spare. I wouldn't want to hike more than about a mile carrying it with the shoulder strap. But its doable.Assembly isn't exactly easy, not exactly hard. I am a strong man, I have good hand strength, and sometimes I struggle to get it to latch. I hear it's easier if you let it warm up in the sun, also it is supposed to get easier as to assemble it more as the creases break in.The kayak rides nice in flat water. Cannot reccommebd it for even minor chop as the side walls are pretty low. It's not fast, but it's very stable because of how wide it is. The rudder also tends to keep it on a straight track, if you make sure that the rudder is not bent, which can easily happen. But it bends back. The inside of the kayak is spacious and wide. The provided seat is small and likely insufficient for any but smaller paddlers. I'd recommend replacing it with a rigid canoe seat (DCI makes a nice one). The adjustable footrest is very flimsy and will not provide much support. I eventually learned to paddle sitting cross-legged and not use the foot rests. There are some workarounds to make the footrest work better, but you won't ever be able to use them for rowing leverage.Getting in and out of the kayak is a bit of a choir for me as I am less flexible and heavier. The kayak is pretty flexible and you can't really lean on the edges for support as you get in. I seem to make it work, but it's not always pretty. The kayak on the water is durable and stable. It feels solid and doesn't take on any water other than what comes over the sides.Overall I'd say as long as you temper you expectations and remember the key feature here is portability, you can make this kayak work for you.

Best Value in folding Kayak
I've had my #Tucktec for about a year now. It can be hard to assemble at first due to the plastic being very stiff, but it gets easier with repeated use. It is very stable, but not a fast kayak. You can't beat the portability and durability. Improvements are promised with #Tucktec2023.

Amazing Kayak!!
I love the portability and how quickly I can put it together and fold it up. It does really well on the water if you are looking for a recreational Kayak. The customer service is amazing and I love their group.#Tucktec #Tucktec2023 #theofficialtucktecfoldingkayakcommunity

Easy assembly, comfortable
Kayaking on Clear Lake Oregon in my friends TuckTec kayak. It was easy to assemble, disassemble, and glided smoothly. Perfect, for me and my stuff.

Had to have my husband assemble it for the first time.
I left it assembled for 3 days after assembled by my husband. With help of the video, I disassembled it easily. I reassembled it at the boat launch with some video reminders. It took body strength at times especially when rolling it up. I am in good shape, 66 yo and short at 5 ft 2 inches! I really could do it.

Rivet on side that held its shape popped, the kayak buckled, and I took on water.
Not quite safe enough to ride, wouldn't trust it for more than a FEW trips.
