I purchased this unit to help out a friend with poor health. Turns out the health was poorer than we thought. I eventually returned the unit [which was on time and well packed] to the manufacture. It was returned out of their "return date" and they [Amazon and the Manufacturer] were more than helpful and I received my full refund. Seriously! How's that for EXCELLENT customer service! I will be remodeling a bathroom in my basement next year sometime, guess where I am going to purchase this unit from [for me!]?

It took waiting a few moths to remodel my shower and install this unit, but it was very worth it. The steam unit over all is very quite. The unit is installed in the attic above my mater bath, when the unit turns on you can hear it filling with water. Of course the steam coming out makes a little noise but nothing too loud. The quality of the steam is very nice and it heats up very well. I like the 2 controllers, it's nice to have control from inside the shower.

Poorly engineered. The Temperature and pressure relief valve is directly above the water inlet, making it difficult to run the discharge pipe to the floor as required by code. The Temperature and pressure relief valve on the unit I installed has no rating plate as required by code. I have no idea if it's the correct one. The filter and pressure reducing valve supplied by SteamSpa are beyond pathetic. The threads on the filter are so poor that you can screw in the pipe and have it bottom out BY HAND! The replacement unit they sent was the same. The pressure reducing valve could not be made to work and it leaked from all 3 threaded ports. The pressure gauge is in the wrong range, it should be 0-30 PSI for this application, not the 0-100 as supplied. After replacing the pressure reducing valve, gauge and filter the unit does produce steam.

Love the finished product, I installed this in my already finished shower. The worst part was using the plumbing kit they provided. I would recommend not buying that and have a plumber do it for you. Other then that the rest was was straight forward. And I've steamed every day since!
