Seems to work, haven't used this as a phone charger yet.
The radio and different flashlights work well via battery, I haven't tried manually charging it yet or using it to charge a phone.

Update - adding 2 Stars
UPDATE 7/28/24Seller reached out & sent a replacement unit for the original defective unit I received. So far I haven't had a problem charging or recharging the internal radio battery. The toggle switch is sliding back and forth easily without breaking as the original one did on the first try. Seller customer service has been excellent & orig. problems don't seem to be an issue with new unit, so I've added 2 Stars to my original review. I haven't had a chance to test this unit for length of time it takes to drain the AAA batteries. I listened to the radio using the AAA batteries for about 30 minutes & it's still strong. I'll update if they drain after 3 hrs of use as I mentioned in my original review. As for internal battery charge, I did listen to a 3 hr Astros game and it's still at 4 bars, so that's great.7/12/24 - At first, I was really impressed because tuning the AM station for the Astros game was easy & the reception was great - no static, no bleeding sound from another station which many transistor radios experience with AM. The light is bright and useful. I was happy that it has both an internal rechargeable battery and the option to use 3 AAA batteries if you don't have outlet available to recharge internal battery. Now for the problems:- First time I tested recharging my 4000mah Galaxy S21 phone from 20%, the radio/charger drained to zero after getting my phone up to 80%. Either the radio battery is not 5000mah or this one is defective.- When I tried to recharge the battery, after 4 hours it was only showing 2 blue lights out of 4 so I checked back after 12 hours & still just 2 lights.- When I first tried to move toggle switch from Internal Battery to use AAA battery source to use radio, the plastic toggle switch fell off without my using force.- Listening to 1 Astros game approx 3+ hours, the brand new AAA Duracell Max batteries were completely depleted. I've never had any device that has drained regular batteries so quickly.I really like the idea of this radio/emergency charger/flashlight and its tuning, reception & sound quality of AM/FM/WB stations, but the overall quality is subpar, it drains batteries unbelievably fast, & internal battery won't recharge after initial charge & use.Two stars for the great AM reception, sound quality & bright flashlight. However, the problems mentioned above, unfortunately, outweigh the good things about this unit, so I'll be returning it.

Great addition to emergency kit
This product has been added to our emergency kit. It’s a little smaller than I imagined, but it will do the trick if we need to use it.

Emergency radio
I haven’t had occasion to use it yet, but it has all the bells and whistles one could ask for in addition to just give you broadcast warnings.
