Flagship Indeed!
I have only owned one other 8Bitdo controller before this one, the Ultimate 2C Black Myth Wukong edition. That controller is great and this new Ultimate 2 is even better. The new TMR analog sicks on the Ultimate 2 are just a touch more defined and sturdy than the Hall Effect sticks on the Ultimate 2C. These have less of a “loose” feeling to them. A slight bit tighter feeling. The D pad is a bit more clicky and less mushy feel. Diagonals on the D Pad in fighting games like Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6 are indeed easier on this controller over the Ultimate 2C. It has almost double the battery life of the Ultimate 2C, comes with a charging dock that you can put the dongle inside of AND the dongle itself is USB C now. When you take the controller off the dock it automatically connects to your PC. It has 2 back paddles and 2 extra shoulder buttons that you can assign how you like in the Ultimate V2 Software. Also Hall Effect triggers with switches for the L and R trigger to make them feel like buttons instead of triggers if you like. Comes in handy depending on the game.On top of those things this controller has LED lights around the analog sticks that are customizable with the Ultimate V2 Software along with customizable button layouts, macros for multiple buttons assigned to a single button or back paddle. And you have 3 customizable profiles you can save. All of which you can’t do with the Ultimate 2C.There really isn’t a valid reason to not buy this over the Ultimate 2C or the previous generation Ultimate controller… unless you want less features, less battery life, worse analogue sticks and a worse D pad… and no eye candy with LED lighting!

Feel great in the hands, no noticeable input lag, best controller in the universe!
These are the best controllers I've ever used. They feel great in my hands. I always loved the Xbox One pads but these are even better. I've used a lot of controllers over the years but I can't get over how amazing these are. I own 3 8-bit do Ultimate controllers and they are still going strong after 3 years of play. This Ultimate 2 is even better than those I'm blown away and I'll be buying another one soon. I love that they are can sit on my desk and charge easily when not being used. Just sit them in their cradle when you're done. Bluetooth and 2.4ghz are great on these and I don't notice any input lag. I love that they added light up bases around the sticks. Also they really improved the analog triggers on these. They also added two new shoulder buttons L4 and R4 that I haven't tried yet, but it's awesome they are there. I use these controllers on my PC and Steam Deck. I hope 8-bit do makes these forever! I've never bought a bad product from these guys. I also have their snes style gamepads as well.

Excellent modern design. (Best for a naturally narrow posture)
Exactly what I was looking for. This is the ideal no-nonsense, no-bulk, simplified controller that is pleasant to look at. The texture is matte and smooth with a slightly rougher touch under the fingers for better grip. The buttons are smooth, accurate and responsive. Controller easily and smoothly drops into place on the docking station. I love that there is a small linear light under the dock that turns off on its own when left alone for a while - no annoying lights left on.**If you have a naturally wide elbow posture, this controller might hurt your wrists!** It's true that the grips of this controller pull your elbows and wrists inwards. I'm a size XS female so my elbows naturally fall at a narrower posture. I found this controller to be comfortable.

Great controller, not perfect though
4th 8bitdo controller I've owned (N30 Pro, SN30 Pro, SN30 Pro 2), first one I've genuinely enjoyed playing with. Super comfortable in the hand, great build quality. Bumpers are super clicky when switched to that mode as are all other buttons in general. Their software for remapping is easy to use.As for the downsides, being forced into only being able to remap buttons, including the back paddles and L4/R4 to other buttons and not keyboard functions is disappointing. Same as the SN30 Pro 2, just hoped it was something that would have changed in this iteration. Still nice to be able to change key bindings, but more freedom would be nice. Additionally, while RGB might be a very appealing feature to some, a button dedicated to it seems excessive. Would definitely have preferred it be something that could only be interacted with via the software or through multiple button presses, freeing up the single button for something else. My final gripe is that the controller is not bluetooth compatible with PC and that the dongle is rather large. Just seems like an odd step backwards from the SN30 Pro 2 that I've had for years.

A Good Controller with Disappointing Downgrades
I had used the Ultimate Bluetooth controller for years and I absolutely love it. I especially enjoy using the gyroscope built in for certain games like Monster Hunter. When I caught the announcement for the Ultimate 2, I ordered immediately, but I also grew skeptical due to certain features not living up to expectations. To get this out of the way now, this controller feels great. All the buttons feel great. The sticks are really nice. Having the extra shoulder buttons are great, and having gyro work while still functioning as an Xbox controller is a huge plus. The major disappointment? Absolutely no Switch support, which is fine given that this is intended for PC. Why is that a problem? Gyro feels really off. Instead of being customizable to say mapping to a mouse, or supporting games with native gyro support like Monster Hunter Wilds, it instead mimicks the analog sticks. If you were to aim with the Ult BT vs the Ult 2, it's smooth handling is night and day. Not to mention one time, gyro eventually stops working and caused insane input lag whenever I tried to activate. There is also no bluetooth for PC gaming, which is ok since it has an adapter included, but apparently it does have Bluetooth, but it only works on mobile devices. I really don't understand why that is. Maybe the range is reduced?I want to love this controller, but the gyroscope killed it for me. If you don't care about it, you might love it. Otherwise, stick with the Ultimate 1 or the SN30 Pro 2.
