Fun little adventure camera
I bought a version of this camera in 2011. It was great for free diving, boating, tubing, and skin boarding. Unfortunately after 13 years of adventures the seal failed and the camera was flooded and died. I quickly bought this camera as a replacement and took it on a tubing trip. I had the same ease of use, and great battery life I enjoyed with the previous camera, but with a better pixel density - meaning bigger and more clear finished photos. This will definitely accompany me on trips to the ocean, river, springs and free diving/snorkeling trips. One photo is my new (blue) and previous camera, the other is a photo taken from the center of the spring run. the light spot in the upper left is from a water drop in the lens.

Fails at the stated purpose of an underwater camera
Terrible for its advertised usage. Underwater it over exposes by 1.5 stops with it suddenly jumping 2.5 stops randomly. Underwater mode locks out exposure compensation and does not correct for loss of red and every photo has an exaggerated blue cast. Lack of RAW mode makes it impossible to ignore these issues. Only a P mode which made terrible decisions for aperture vs shutter speed. One star because it works okay as a point and shoot out of the water, but your modern cell phone will do better. One star because the seals seem to be decent. Too bad the photos were terrible.

Really need to learn this one to get the most out of it
Initially I was not impressed but the more I explored the settings I found gives you many of the same features of my DLSR that elevates this above other point and shoots I have had.

Tough little camera. But not sharp like a DSLR.
Not extremely sharp, but highly versatile.I've had several versions of this camera over the years (roughly 20 years). It's a tough camera. You can get shots with it that you can't get any other way, which is why I keep buying it.OK. About focus: It uses a zone focus system. You put a subject in its zone, and it focuses on it. You don't get really sharp photos this way, but they are sellable. And the close focus on this camera is hard to beat. It's a small camera that you can carry anywhere, but it's not unbreakable. I know this because I have had and broken several of these over the years.

This is still the best snorkeling camera
I've bought 4 of these Pentax/Ricoh camera (including the new WG-1000) and the WG-70, 80, 90 are the best. I hade one leak the 3rd time out, so I got the extended warranty with this one. The 5x zoom is the best and has yielded some wonderful pix.

Warranty not honered.
The rear battery compartment assembly would not completely close. The camera was still under warranty and I sent it back. To my surprise, I get an email with an invoice for $269 to repair the slide mechanism. The representative said normal wear and tear is not covered. This was not the response I was expecting.

Big Capabilities in a Small Package
It was a pleasure to use this camera. I can concentrate on the subject I'm photographing, and less on the camera.
