Well built with locking pins
I freaking hate working on compressed springs. I avoid at all costs - nearly maimed myself wrestling springs around before. So that being said, I hope I don't put these to too much use. But when I do, I at least feel like I'm not going to injure myself because these feel really well made and sturdy, and the pins LOCK onto the spring, so the spring can't get away from the compressor. I think we've all probably watched those videos online. I don't want to be the guy in the videos. And I'm fairly certain, thanks to this compressor I won't be. Five stars for safety!

happy to have this set no more renting
So recently i began to take on more automotive work than just mine and my family's so every chance i can bag some tools I'm gonna go for it, this was no exception last 2 times i had to remove a spring i had to go and rent a tool the compressor set well now i got these and if you see anyone needing there springs compressed send them my way lol, on a serious note the springs are under a substantial amount of compression so please be careful and watch what your doing and how you do it so can be bas safe as possible thanks.

Safer than models I've used before
If you're a gearhead, you know just how dangerous struts can be to work on! Before ordering this kit, I'd get a loaner set from the local auto parts store but it always was a nerve-racking experience due to its lack of safety pins. If you didn't have the compressors lined up plumb and parallel to the shock, there was a good chance it would slip off the spring and if at the wrong time, it was just downright dangerous. No more! With this set, you get locking pins that locks the tool to the spring while in use. This way, if you get wonky and the tool slips, it stays contained and won't send the compressors across the shop at mach jesus. For peace of mind alone, this set is 5 stars, but it's also built well and looks like the same quality as other reputable brands I own. If you're working on struts every once in awhile, this is a fantastic option!

Decent enough
This 2PCS Spring Compressor for Suspension seems on par with other basic spring compressors I've used. The storage case has nice sliding latches, but cheap bending plastic hinges. The tool comes covered in thin oil, probably to prevent rusting. The castings are a little rough, but the tool is functional. The threads and washers need some heavy grease before use. I've added an additional washer to each compressor because I've found that two stacked, greased washers slide nicer under load, kind of a cheap thrust bearing. It's a decent tool for the price of $25.

Locking pins
These are so much better than using the loaners without the pins.In the past I have used parts store loaner ones that did nothing for safety having on occasion springs slip and release pinging the spring across the yard luckily away from me. These have a pin that ensures they can't do that and are much safer to use when changing struts. They seem to be well constructed and get the job done while adding a safety precaution that they should all have. Had no issues whatsoever using them and they are a fair value as well.

Good quality set
For the home mechanic who wants to take on some spring work, this is a great set to get. The set is well made and strong. The best part is the safety pins to keep the compressor tool from coming off. There is a lot of tension in those springs and these compressor tools make working with them, just a little bit safer and a lot easier. That doesn’t mean that you still don’t need to line them up properly and safely, you still don’t want to test the sheer strength of those safety pins. The price is more than fair for this set of compressors and I think you get a good quality kit for a small investment that will save you a headache on your next job.

Great tool that will save your life. Coil springs are dangerous to work with
This will LITERALLY save your life! If you work on cars you know how dangerous removing coil springs are from a car. Many people have been killed or hurt from Removing coils without using a tool.I was helping a friend and needed this tool so I got it. This worked great on his Mustang. It was easy to use and it comes in a hard case. You just take both sides down evenly until the coil comes out and when the coil is back in you release them using a ratchet. It’s simple to use and is a lot safer.
