My husband and I have purchased a total of six of these so far and may buy three more once we get our basement finished. We needed black for sure which was hard enough to find because all of our light switches, outlets, and wall covers are black. We wanted our living room and master bedroom in our brand new house to look flawless, so we decided to hide all surround sound speaker wires. We have a 5.1 Bose surround sound with subwoofer and receiver that cannot all be right next to each other, so these are great. I felt obligated from my experience to at least knock off 1 star because I went through too much drama just to find out that these did not include both the fixture and cover plate. After their investigation they have changed the picture & description of the advertisement, however, the picture used to show these connection fixtures plus a cover plate around them and even said specifically in the main points of the ad that the product came with an indestructible wall plate cover. You will need to buy the cover plates separately. Overall I am satisfied with the product, but I just hate false advertising and receiving 3 separate orders just for them to finally get sick of me calling to say I did not get the cover plates included! I even told the first lady that I am fine with them if they were not in fact supposed to include the plates, but she insisted they were included on two separate occasions and sent me 2 sets of what I ordered just to finally email me to say they are not in fact included. I almost called back once more and demanded they send me cover plates somehow for free for this hassle, but got some from Lowes.

I got these over the Monoprice equivalents because they have the surround speakers grouped together, which I prefer. There are some things about the connectors which are not mentioned in the description. The connections on the back (except for the F-type coax connector for the subwoofer) use set screws. I was able to make a solid connection with doubled over 16 gauge stranded wire. The set screw is about 1/8" diameter and slotted, so it was a bit of a pain to find a screwdriver small enough to fit down into the recess for the last bit of tightening.On the front, the banana plugs are spaced horizontally to accept a standard dual banana plug. I tried doing the same thing vertically to double check my wiring polarity, but the spacing is a bit too large for a dual plug there.This makes a very professional-looking install when you get it all set up with a switch plate and everything. Very pleased with the appearance.

Quality of the item is great. The plastic takes paint well, and is hefty.The connectors for subwoofers use a RCA connectors on the front (good), but use a coax connector on the backside (bad). Who uses coax cables for speakers? So, I have to make an additional purchase to get RCA connectors and replace the RCA/Coax connectors. :(Labeling is only ok. Instead of using "left rear" or "right rear", it uses "left surround" and "right surround". So, if I have a 7.1 or 8.1 set up, which speakers are the surrounds?

This home theater wall plate is perfect for my speakers and subwoofer behind the couch. You can use coax cable in the wall for the subwoofer and the inside connection is already set up for it. I reluctantly used cat5 twisted pair wires for my surrounds because they were already there in the wall - and this wall plate has solid, gold plated terminals. My only wish is the package came with two identical wall plates for both ends.

Does exactly what you'd expect it to do, with very easy installation. Each terminal has it's own set-screw on the rear for easy termination of each wire. Also appreciate the easy to read labels (e.g. Right/Left Rear/Front, etc) - makes for a tidy install.

The work good however, if you use a banana plug on the back they don't fit in a standard depth box. They do allow you to wire directly to them so that is okay.

This product fit my needs perfectly. I have a 5.2 system with two additional zones that have 2 speakers each. This setup made it difficult to find a wall plate for. I bought one of these and another 4 speaker wall plate to accomplish what I needed, and it worked perfectly.

Works well. The back side has holes to stick your wire into, and a screw to tighten down on the wire. No losses wires! Color matches all my other standard outlet covers well.
