Just purchased this KastKing set as I have been in need of a new knife to break down larger fish. This set includes a 9" boning knife which fits the bill. I like the colorful handles, which makes it stand out. The knife is sturdy yet slightly flexible; perfect for larger fish where a sturdier blade is necessary to slice through sinew and bone of larger fish. I also greatly appreciate the blade cover, keeping things safe while not in immediate use, with lots of air vents to avoid moisture/rust. The handle is nicer than my previous knife, with a well formed solid grip that is very handy, especially when dealing with slime and other nastiness that can make other knives too slippery and potentially dangerous.I also appreciate this set coming with a sharpener, which will replace my old one which has started to come loose at the handle. I will also find use for the shears, though I find these somewhat too large to take out on the water for my tastes and will be used at home instead.Overall, I have been satisfied with KastKing products in general, which I find to provide a good balance between quality and affordability. This new knife set is no exception.

It's OK

The filet knife is perfect length and has the right flex to hug the backbone and rib bones when slicing the perfect filet. The scissors are a great tool to have on board to cut gills to bleed big fish and has a bottle opener for quenching the thirst.

Another great set from KastKing. The 9" Boning Knife is great for larger fish and works great for all size fish. I love the orange nonslip handles. The knife is very sharp and has a really nice sheath to cover the blade and keep you safe from cuts when storing it.The shears are a multi-tool. Cut bait or any kind of meats. It has a built in scaler, crimper, carabiner, jig eye buster, bottle opener, wire cutter, gut hook and flathead screwdriver. The shears are really sharp.The Paradox family of knives and tools are a must have for any fisherman. They come in a nice Black and Orange KastKing box. If you are looking for a boning knife, filet knife or bait knife then check these out. KastKing offers a great product at a great price.

Product was received very promptly after order. Knife and shears are very sharp. I'm really impressed with the plastic covers as they go on tightly and stay on. Both knife and shears are easy to use with fishing gloves on and are really comfortable to use with or without gloves. Good grips. Lot of 'extra' functions on the shears that I probably will never use, but for the most part they don't get in the way. I used the shears to cut bait and the bait knife worked well for that also.

All in all this is a great set. Was using the scissors for the first time to cut bait while running turtle lines on my boat. Dipped them in the water real quick to rinse them off & they came apart. Gone. Didn’t realize they even come apart until the other half was sinking to the bottom of the lake. Wish I could give it 5 stars but I just can’t with a useless single sided scissor. The knife is great though.
