GoPro should pay attention to this.
Short, short version: it's awesome. Buy it.Now, for a little elaboration. There are a lot of features built into this little cage. And I mean a lot. Just to start things off, the built quality...oh man. There is only 1 single part on this entire cage that is polymer-based, and that's the foam thingy that holds the camera in place. I mean, that CAN'T be metal, and so, that is the ONLY part on this entire cage that isn't metal. I mean it, aside from that, Neewer apparently went out of their way to make certain not a single bit of plastic is to be found anywhere within the frame. Not on the frame itself, on any of the buttons, on any single part of it. And it is such a finely crafted thing, too, every part fitting together or pivoting together just flawlessly. To look at it, it literally pains me to think that one aspect of this cage's job is to sacrifice itself for what is obviously a much more expensive GoPro, should a particularly hard fall occur. I would almost rather the GoPro take the hit so the cage can stay beautiful and perfect. Almost. At the end of the day, it's still an effective suit of armor first, and I'm glad for that because a GoPro is expensive, regardless of the model. Also, I'd like to point out in particular the mount underneath. That...is a stroke of genius, and it is something GoPro should SERIOUSLY take a look at emulating in their future product lineup. Because the flip-down "GoPro ears" that pop back up to go on a normal 1/4-20 tripod plate, without having to search back and forth for adapters or other pieces or bits or doo-dads is so overwhelmingly helpful. If I had $1 for every time I was digging through all my GoPro stuff for this mount or that mount, simply because I wanted to change how I'm using it, I would be crazy rich. GoPro - pay attention here. This bit is brilliant. Do this. The rest is just icing and sprinkles, folks. It works with after-market lenses (way to think ahead, Neewer), and having 2 cold shoes? So much I can do here. And the way everything goes together and just works so perfectly, like they actually took the time with every single .001 mm to make it just right still just amazes me for the price of this. Yes, in "GoPro cage world", it's a little pricier than many other cages. But I'm certainly not above paying a little more for something a whole lot better. If I had to wish at it? Get all nit-picky? I suppose I WOULD like to see a FEW more 1/4-20 mounting holes. There are 2, 1 on the bottom and one on the side. I would just like to see 1 or 2 more...just cause, you know, 1/4-20 mounting holes are useful, lol. And maybe, just maybe an "interlock switch" for the little red button that releases the back. It works a little TOO smoothly and perfectly, and it's not hard to disengage it, at all. Just, keep your fingers away from it, I suppose that's why they made it red. A small interlock switch would be preferred, though.I didn't consider those little minor things enough to lesson my 'wow' factor enough to reduce it a star. If Amazon would let me? I would rate it 4.75...ALMOST perfect. Still well worth the asking price, in my opinion. Especially if it ends up sacrificing itself to save your GoPro. 100% recommend. And good job, Neewer.

Great cage. Though not exactly perfect solid fit.
Maybe it’s just my go pro but there is about a cm worth of shake/movement for me. Both with the original battery cover and the one included here. Other than than it’s great all around.

Fits well and keeps the camera cool
I have a different one of these by Neewer which I got last year and it has the 52mm lens mount on it that allows you to mount filters. Since I got a new GoPro 12, my GoPro 10 was stolen, I decided to get this one here as a replacement since I did not really need the filter portion. This all aluminum cage is exactly what you want for multiple purposes. Its all aluminum so its pretty sturdy but it also acts as a heat sink if you use the GoPro like I do. I film bands that are usually over an hour set and if the battery didn't die first, it would shut off after about an hour due to it being too hot, overheated. When I used this cage, it keeps the camera just cool enough to prevent that which was really nice to have. I have an external battery that can keep the camera going longer than the usual hour with the battery so I don't have to power it down and replace while missing some parts of the show. The added multiple hot shoes works well plus you can use an adapter on the hot shoe for additional mounts or adaptors. The best part is that you have both the folding fingers for the standard GoPro mounting but also a 1/4" screw hole for mounting on a tripod. This is well worth the reasonable cost that helps keep the camera cool, protects it from damage if dropped and adds to the mounting options. Highly recommend this for any GoPro users.

very nice quality
This is a very nice cage, and I would be thrilled to use it...sadly, though, it doesn't fit my action camera. I have a camera from an independent maker and I wasn't sure if this was the same size or not, but the design of the gamer and GoPro were identical so I took a shot. Sadly, the go pro is apparently much bigger than mine. So, it will sit with my camera gear in case I every get around to getting and testing a go pro, but it may never do anything but look nice on my shelf. But in working with it to see if my camera did fit, you could see it is well made. I will say the design is perhaps more complicated than it need be, but I definitely feel like my action camera would be safe in it. My phone, which doubles as a b camera a lot, basically lives in a phone cage, because they just provide so much protection. I image that would be the case here as well.

Excellent fitting cage; investment to both protect and gain the extra tripod and cold shoe mounts
I love the extra protection this Neewer AC008 cage gives my GoPro 11 and it's a perfect fit. There are a number of benefits to using this cage:1. Aluminum cage protects but maintains a light weight2. GoPro inserts into cage easily without using tools3. Cage cutouts keep the charging port and function buttons accessible for operation4. You have the option of keeping the original battery door for camera waterproofing5. The cage allows full access to the battery door for replacement of battery and SD card6. Cage adds two cold shoe mounts (top and side)7. Cage gives you the option of GoPro mounting fingers or regular tripod screw mounting8. Cage is compatible with DJI Quick Release Adapter Mount9. Cage is compatible with Max Lens ModThe Neewer AC008 is a no-brainer since anyone with a GoPro needs a protective cage in my opinion. This is a small investment to both protect and gain the extra tripod and cold shoe mounts.
