Works well
Used this carb on a 1983 gmc truck with 292 straight six. Seems to be working quite well. Nearly a perfect match up for the Rochester monojet carb originally on this engine. In the old days you could overhaul a carb and just put it back on. But the carb cleaning fluids available today simply don't do the job. Thus, this route of the replacement carb is the best way to solve an old gummed up carb.

Good but check it out first
The media could not be loaded. *I had to edit my video for language*First off, this came with zero paperwork which I thought was a bit odd. Maybe it was a return or something who knows.Anyway, first impressions- super clean, felt solid, nice blade movement etc etcSo I put it on, hooked everything up, turned key, gas everywhere from vent tube. I mean everywhere ha.Pull the top half off, check float. Seemed like it might have been stuck a little so free it up, put back together.Try again, same deal.SO take it apart again. The tube which one would assume is the fuel inlet just dumped fuel directly into bowl bypassing the needle and seat altogether. (Keep in mind no paperwork to tell you otherwise). Assuming this one is a return line or something I dunno, I plugged it off. Put a new nipple on the correct inlet port, boom thing runs like a champion.I would leave 5 stars but come on man. Still I can’t bitch, 80 bucks and works really well so far. Btw it’s on a Ferd 300 I6 for what it’s worth

Check and torque all screws to specifications. Some were partially loose on the carb I got.
Carb worked very well, adjusted mixture screw and choke, worked great, just had a few screws that needed tightened.

Works fine
Received carburetor on time, well packaged, and was exact copy of original. Installed when received and old truck started right up. Most impressed with quality. Great value for the price.

Good, but read on
I ordered this to replace the Rochester monojet on my '69 Chev C10 with a 250 engine. The box and packaging it came in was uncut and pristine. I installed this and it flooded fuel straight through the top, so I shut her down fast. I knew straight away there was an 'interior' problem. Pulled it apart and the float was dislodged. Five stars- excellent customer service which is hard to find these days and b>: this clearly was something that happened in shipping _ the carburetor is quite nice and is running well now. Not perfect, but recommended.

Dificil de poner a punto
Todo calzo bien pero vino muy desajustado, fue dificil ponerlo a punto en el carro. Todo lo demas coincidio con el original

Quit worrying about it and just buy it!
The media could not be loaded. So....Like many of you, I was a little on the skeptical side when ordering this carburetor. I know very little about carburetors, and rebuilding them. After tinkering with the factory carb for seemingly endless amount of time, I found this ad. Thinking eh, it probably wont be any good but its amazon ill just return it if it doesnt work out. Not expecting much i bolted it on, was priming fuel up to the carb not even trying to start it yet. And It fired up! idled and ran perfectly! I didnt have to change a single adjustment or mess with anything! Im running a 1978 Ford F-150 with the 300 inline 6 and a manual trans, so no kick down for me to deal with on an automatic so cant speak to how well it will work with an automatic. But i am absolutely blown away! actually got to drive the truck for the first time. Just buy it!!!

A high quality copy of the original.
This review applies the the Ford single barrel carb for 1965-1985 models. Overall it is very good. High quality castings, machining and assembly. The only flaws in this model are the screws holding the butterflies to the shafts. They are not piened over like the original and could potentially loosen over time. The other flaw is that one of the 4 screws holding the throttle section to the bottom of the carburetor main section is too long. It is the one that goes into a blind hole under the fuel bowl. It will appear tight, but is actually the thickness of 3 washers too long, and is not contributing to the attachment of the two pieces. Recommend either shortening the screw or adding washers. Since this carb is intended to cover a broad range of years and models, it may not be an exact fit in every detail. For example, the linkage assembly does not have a provision for attaching the linkage to Ford's AOD overdrive transmission. I found it easiest to just swap the entire bottom assembly from my original carb onto the new upper parts. It works fine. The engine started up quickly and needed only an idle adjustment. I would recommend this to others. It is an outstanding value, and much easier than rebuilding an old carb.

Worked right out of the box
Can't beat it for this price. I didn't need to make any adjustments at all, fired up right away. A lot less work than trying to troubleshoot my old carb, well worth the price.
