Perfect!
I build small barrels and old time wood butter churns. I built my own taper jig but I needed one with maximum repeatability. This jig is strong, lightweight and stays where I set it. It is perfect for me!

Lightweight
Easy to assemble. Haven't used it yet but I don't foresee any reason why there should be any problem. It's lightweight and quality construction. Wouldn't use it where I had to apply a lot of pressure but for average light work it should be just fine.Right after I got the notice of shipment for the Powertech I found my old heavy duty jig from 1975. I don't need two jigs so I really wanted to find something wrong with the Powertech so I cold return it. Couldn't find anything wrong so I have to keep it and now I have two jigs. Oh well.

Bad Design
Bought this for a birthday gift for family member starting out, thinking it’d be easier for him initially, and instead of making his own jig. Device is a bit flimsy, but that’s what you get for your money these days. The use of round head bolts to hold the stop in place has to be one of the stupidest designs I’ve seen. Placement of wood along the rail is automatically out of flush due to the head of the bolt protruding from the rail wall, creating a gap other reviewers have mentioned. I cut a short piece of 1x and ran wood screws from the other side of the rail to hold it in place. You’ll benefit from using a feather jig in a miter slot and bring it in snug against the cut piece to ensure the it stays snug against the fence. Tool tends to wander otherwise, as lightweight as it is. Years ago I made a crosscut sliding jig with slot rails attached, complete with adjustable angle rest and stops for better accuracy. There are dozens of patterns online now for making your own, and likely better than mine. Lastly, to get around the challenge of cutting so close to the jig at the end of your pass, attach a longer stop, and use a straight piece of scrap wood as a spacer between your cut piece and the rail. You’ll complete the cut further up on the pass, and further away from the blade.

Super Value!
This is the very best value out there in a tapering jig. It’s well made and easy to use.

Doesnt fit
Beautiful product. I was excited to use it. It doesn't fit my old craftsman 10” tablesaw.

Happy with it
Read a lot of bad reviews on this but couldn’t find any taper jigs that were reviewed well. I used this to taper a 15” stool seat. Had zero issues. Go slow and be careful and you’re all set. My setting locked in with zero movement during use. Quality and construction are both good.

Does this job, awful customer service
This was my first mitre gauage after lots of research. The price matched the quality and honestly if its not Incra it won't be square out the box.The screw for the expansion discs lost their threading which made it very hard to remove and adjust. There are only spare expansion discs with the product, no screws. Powertec customer service advised me to buy more screws, which off their website is an affordable $1, but shipping was "by weight" which came to $62 USD.Unfortunately due to this major error I was left unable to use the gauage, until i bought a replacement off Temu, and fortunately that came with extra expansion discs, which fit perfectly and worked as intended.I was really interested in powertec products, but following my experience with customer service, I will opt for other options at this price point. I will say that you can get the same gauges, fences, stops and bars for much much cheaper..
