Good solid herb mix
These are a great value, about 1/8 the price of grocery store herbs de provence. The bottle is restaurant sized, so you'll get a lot of use out of it. The herbs do not taste super fresh (but neither do any of the other brands), but they do taste fresh enough. There's some lavender in there but not a lot. Mostly it seems to be thyme, sage, tarragon and oregano.

Fine flavor and aroma
Previously I used to purchase Gourmet Collection McCormick Herbes de Provence 3.25 oz at Costco, but then they stopped carrying it. So I bought one of those small bottles, much cheaper at Walmart than at HEB, that I used up. I'm planning to get another small one to compare with the Amazon container and will update this review. This Amazon 6 oz container is called McCormick "CULINARY." The texture is different--it is more flaky and fluffy, with fewer little stemlike pieces. It tastes good to me and its texture might be preferable to the Costco version. The Costco container mentions the following ingredients: SPICES (INCLUDING ROSEMARY, MARJORAM, THYME AND SAVORY)The 6 oz container from Amazon lists the following ingredients: ROSEMARY, MARJORAM, THYME, SAGE, ANISE SEED, SAVORY, AND LAVENDER. The wording on the Costco container is phrased such that one cannot really determine whether it too includes sage, anise seed, and lavender.Okay, now I bought another McCormick Gourmet Collection 0.65 ounce glass bottle of Herbes de Provence to compare. The Amazon container has a stronger aroma. One can taste the anise in it. I prefer the slightly flakier texture. I also prefer the taste. The Amazon container is made of plastic, so the contents appear to be less green but when the contents are poured out and compared, there is no difference in color. It's just that the color shows through better in the small glass bottle. One gets the impression that the Amazon product is less fresh because the plastic hides the color, but it isn't less fresh, in my opinion.

Wonderful blend of herbs
Good quality blend of aromatic and flavorful herbs. Gives food a little something special in the flavor. One large container last forever, it seems. So good!

Herbs of Provence Best Deal
I’m a chef and I love coming across great deals on herbs I need for my dishes and I truly love the flavor of these medley of herbs. Just a great price for the size.

Not a Penzey's replacement
But it'll do, for most things. Think of it more like an "Italian Seasoning" blend with just a bit of the fennel and lavender that makes it "de Provence."

MMMMM MMMMMM GOOD !
I'm usin' the stuff on tomatoes, cheese, and cukes so far - Made Boursin cheese with it and sprinkled some on a Flat Iron steak - Just a light tasty garden herb flavor - I'll be buying more no doubt - I researched the most flavorful and I chose the McCormick brand - Pat on the back to me. Enjoy

Just What I Was Looking For
Spices are so expensive in any brick and mortar shop you visit. I like McCormick's Herbs de Provence. It's the first herbs de provence I used from long ago, but the price has just become horrible at the grocery stores. I decided to try Amazon and to my astonishment they had it. Some reviewers were unkind, but that's not unusual. I tried it. I like it. It works for me, and I will purchase it from Amazon again.
