I had two cats and one was on chemotherapy that meant all vomit/hairball areas needed to be cleaned with hot water to denature the chemo meds. That was my sole purpose for buying this. Instead - life changing! I am now that person that enjoys cleaning my floor - who knew? There are 4 types of pads (only comes with two types) - so explore to find the ones for more serious scrubbing. The water chamber is easy to fill, but a bit of a pain to get in and out of the handle. So maybe people with arthritis would do better filling it without detaching (pour in with a funnel?). The only real tricky part is the "lean back" to get it started. Sometimes I have to give it more than one try to get the move right, and other times it will take off on me like a racecar. Had other steamers before, but none had this scrubbing power or the immediacy in coming to temperature.

While I was a little disappointed by that, I want to stress that the Shark Steam & Scrub S8201 is still worth every penny. I LOVE this!! It was easy to put together, pads stayed in place and was super fast at steaming. I have tile and have always had to hand scrub the grout until today! I love that it’s kinda self propelled, easily glided across my floors with little effort. Super easy to manipulate under cabinets and in between areas normally hard to get. Love the lights on it too! I didn’t have any issues with water leaking, and the water reservoir was easy to remove and put back on, wasn’t heavy or difficult to latch back into place. This is my second Shark steamer, I still have my first one and use it (6 years now, never an issue) but wanted to try one with the double rotating pads and I am so glad I did! The steam cleans so well and the floors feel and look so good! The price is great, very happy with my purchase. Most definitely recommend purchasing.

First off I LOVE this steam scrubber. And that's what it is, a steam scrubber, NOT a vacuum mop. This is an amazing upgraded version of the steam mops with the pads.Cons- Let's start with what it does NOT do. If you are looking for something to lay down water, scrub your floor and then suck it all back up, this is not what you want. This is also NOT a vacuum. If you want a one stop do it all floor cleaner this is not for you. Also, if you are looking for a tool to remove years of built up dirt in your grout lines, this is not for you. This is more of a maintenance, keeping it clean, machine.Pros- What does it do? It lays down a LOT of steam while simultaneously scrubbing with a combination soft rag/stuff bristle roller. It DOES have suction and will pick up the extra water and debris , however, the dirty water and debris tanks are TINY. Once they are full, which is about 1/4 of the way through the clean water tank, the water will just stay on your floor. I assume this is because shark expects most of the water to evaporate on your floor, but if you spend a lot of time going over the same area, that will not happen. So you have two options, you can stop cleaning 1/4 of the way through the clean water tank and empty the dirty tanks and it will continue to pick up the water, OR you can just clean your floor and then go back over it with a dry towel to pick up the extra water, which is what I do.Conclusion - So why do I love it? I have a shark robot vac that vacuums my house daily so I do not need a mop that also vacuums. The corded feature allows me to clean my whole downstairs in one go. The amount of water in the clean tank lasts me through two small rooms or one big room. The scrubber/steam combo removes even the worst dried on, stuck on food and gummy goo from my tile floors. We are barefoot in my house, and my floors are left feeling so squeaky clean under our feet. It can not be used with a cleaning solution which I love because the floors are sanitized with no chemical residue left on them.I gave 4 stars because the only thing it needs improved is the size of the dirty water tanks. Everything else is perfect in my eyes.So If you are looking for a daily to weekly maintenance machine to remove stuck on dried up food from your floors and sanitize them this is definitely the machine for you!
