It really works
I wanted a patient lift that would lift from the floor if necessary…it does. Mostly I lift my husband from the bed to a wheelchair and this lift does this really well. We have an adjustable bed so when I position the lift frame by the bed I have to make sure the bed is flat or the bed motors get in the way of the lift frame. One other reviewer said it best that moving the frame on carpet with the patient in the sling is very hard…it’s doable but hard. The other thing that’s hard to do is when the person is in the sling and you have to spread the legs of the lift to position a wheelchair under the patient and return the lift legs to normal position while on carpet. Don’t get me wrong the patient lift functions well…so well that I bought a second one for down stairs. I put my husband in the sling and transfer him to a wheelchair then we go to the stair lift. I then lift him out of the wheelchair and put him on the stair lift. Once he is down stairs I use the other patient lift to get him off the stair lift and on to another wheelchair. This patient lift works well for us.

Medical hoist
Item is most helpful to be able to transport my bedridden 90 yr old mother to the living room for a change of scenery and to see people who come over to see her.

Quality, fairly good. Service after sale stinks.
Although this company presents an attractive item, with the respected name "Hoyer", they ,DO NOTback up their merchandise.I am handicapped, by a degenerative spinal condition. I often fall, and being a large person, once down getting me up is difficult. As we are often alone together. This task falls to my wife. She is a small woman of 72 and though strong, she is still human. We bought this item in late February, and luckily did not have occasion to use it until mid April. Immediately, the bar which adjusts the width began to bend. After a couple of uses it wouldn't function. So, here i sit, before the end of April. A broken ankle propped up on my bed means 3 months of NO walking with possible surgery. This leaves me with plenty of time to ask this company to at least supply repair parts. Or whether i should purchase another machine without this defect and file a lawsuit for the cost of this machine , plus the inconvenience they have caused me.

MediHoist patient lift looks and works great
The delivery was faster than predicted, which was wonderful. It was well packed.Pros: The patient lift is well designed and solidly built. The motor is quiet and smooth. The wheels are designed to work ONLY on hardwood or linoleum. The wheels a WILL NOT work on carpet. If you have mechanical skills, you could replace them with 5 inch wheels.Cons: The brand name, MediHoist, is nowhere to be found on the lift or the instructions. The model number, HY108 is only found on the instructions. The instructions have no warranty information, and no contact information to reach MediHoist. If it ever needs repair, parts or service, I’m in trouble. The written instructions say to charge the Motek battery once a month, or whenever the gauge shows only a quarter charge. The battery itself says to charge the battery every night, all night. Which is it? The instructions mention a separate option battery and charger, but I couldn’t find one online.6 month update: I love this lift. I bought the aluminum model, which is lightweight and easy to move. The motor is nice and quiet. I'd buy it again if needed.

STURDY AND HEAVY, but not light enough to lift folded
Works well but it is heavy. Be aware that it works best on hard floors and not carpet.
