Works with my display port switch
Finally, this is just the cable I needed! I have a PC and work laptop that was going into a HDMI switch. I wanted to change everything from HDMI to display port, but my work laptop only has HDMI. After a fair amount of trial and error, this is the cable that worked for me! And it does work with my new display port switch as well, even though the description warns it will not. Very happy!Works with this switch -DisplayPort Switch 8K Splitter Bidirectional DP 1.4 Switcher Box by Angusplayhttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B089SLDDZZ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

Glad there is a cord like this
Was finally able to display my new laptop on my old monitor screen. My new laptop did not have any of the same ports as my old laptop and all HDMI cords are unidirectional. This cord solved that problem and allowed me to use my old monitor solving the need to buy a new monitor. Saved me money.

This converter cable works, but not for my setup.
This cable did not work for what I was trying to do, but I've confirmed that it does what it's supposed to. I'm going to return the cable, but I wanted to give a detailed review in case someone else might wonder about using it for a similar purpose as I did.My computer display is one of the early PC monitors to have 4K resolution. It's an Acer Predator XB271HK 4K 60Hz monitor. It's meant to be connected via DisplayPort 1.2, but it's also one of the first NVIDIA G-sync displays to have an HDMI input.I want to connect a PlayStation 5 to this monitor. I can easily do that with HDMI. The problem is that this G-Sync unit's HDMI input only supports up to 4K30. The PlayStation 5 refuses to operate at that resolution, and instead outputs to the monitor at 1080p60. Using the monitor's DisplayPort input is required for 4K60.So, it should be obvious what I was hoping this converter cable could do for me. Unfortunately, the monitor doesn't detect a signal over DisplayPort with this converter cable.I confirmed that the cable absolutely does work. I successfully used it to connect the PS5 to an ancient BenQ XL2420T 1080p120 monitor, which also has a DisplayPort 1.2 input. Even 120Hz was detected, so this cable does its job.I don't know exactly why the Predator monitor wouldn't detect the input, but it's not the converter cable. My monitor is outdated and has some hardware issues. I know I need to get a new one, but I was hoping this converter cable would allow me to get better quality from the PS5 until I'm able to upgrade. Sadly, not.

The ONLY true way to get from HDMI Output to a DisplayPort Monitor
I have tested...let's say probably 10 different setups to get my Raspberry Pi 5 to display on multiple monitors. I bought two of these, 2HDMI couplers, and 2 HDMI micro --> HDMI (regular) cables. I've been beating my head on the wall trying to get this to work with a plethora of other adapters, but *finally* I found the one that works. This is truly the one that will give you a dual monitor desktop on Raspberry Pi 5.

Works great
I got a regular Display Port to HDMI cord and it didn't work. So I did a little research and found out that it needed to be powered, so this was recommended. Works perfectly!
