Bamboo Book Binding Cradle with an Awl, Wood Bookbinding Punching Cradle with Piercing Guide, Polished Smooth Surface, Sturdy and Durable, Easy to Use Guide

This is a durable bookbinding cradle. It's a breeze to use and fits books larger than I expect to make any time soon. The accompanying awl is fit for purpose. I can punch precise holes. I wish they had holes midway between the centimetre-spaced holes for more placement options, but that's not a deal-breaker. All in all, a good value.

Works perfectly easy to use and well made

This item is sturdy, smooth and well-made from bamboo; it has many holes for punching any kind of spacing along the length. There is a stop bar for the guide (top piece) to align with the bottom piece for perfect alignment and spacing every time. The awl feels good in my hand. It’s not too long. The bottom piece has a hole at the center mark that the tip of the awl fits into and this keeps the top from sliding off when moving (see photo). This type of storage arrangement also protects the sharp awl tip. I have not used this unit yet, but I am quite confident that it will poke nice tiny holes when I’m ready to assemble some signatures.This review is missing a star because there is no paper instruction “guide,” as the description reads; this may be because it’s Chinese and the writer did not have firm command of English and by saying guide, they were referring to the top piece with the holes in it; tbat said, you don’t really need instructions… this whole puncher is pretty self-explanatory in terms of what the owner needs to do to put holes in paper.

I am very pleased with the quality of this book cradle! A big upgrade from the cardboard cradle I have been using for years!

cradle is sturdy and a luxurious upgrade from the cheap plastic one i’ve been using for over a year. however, the awl included came broken despite NO damage to the box or packaging. i’m glad i have a few of my own on hand. this isn’t a good beginner punching kit—you’re better off buying your own awl and purchasing this only for the punching cradle.

Good quality for the price. Saves time and helps with precision.

This is great for signatures and pamphlet stitches,etc. The hole spacing works with most things fine. I wish the trough was a little deeper so the awl could punch a bit further down enlarging the hole, but it works ok. The angles are very good. Nice and heavy and durable. All in all, it’s great. 😺
