You can use cheaper oil or citronella in outside burners, but for indoor you really need to use the best quality oil to get better burn/low-no odor, no smoke and as low soot as possible. I've never ordered any before, I would just grab the best the local store had to sell.. I was concerned about this item being shipped and leaking... but I went ahead and grabbed this when it came up on offer and I am happy to report this arrived in perfect condition in the good plastic bottle sealed in plastic wrap! This was impressive because this was the ONLY item in a way too big a box and there was nothing in there but a single sheet of crumpled paper to keep it from being tossed all over inside the box during shipping! LOLSo I eagerly filled the base of my oil lamp, screwed the burner back on then put a few drops of oil on the top of the wick too and set it aside to soak until the next night. So last night I lit the lamp, adjusted the flame to perfection and put the chimney on it. I only burned it for a couple of hours and then put it out. But that was enough time for me to verify what I needed to about the oil and my new lamp! I couldn't be happy with how they both performed! I'll be getting more of this for sure as I want more oil lamps or lanterns.So the regular price $9.99 per the listing for this size bottle 32 ounces/1 quart is higher but worth it for the higher quality of this lamp oil. It also comes in 1 gallon size at a better price $24.99 making it average price per quart then of just $6.25! Now you can get cheaper oil or citronella or even straight kerosene to burn in outdoor torches, but again you don't want to do that inside your house.As always I only do honest reviews and will update if needed. I have been obsessed with the fire units that are so easily put together for backyard fun, and relaxation in the evening. I have the silica, the tabletop fire pit combustion chamber set, and now the premium liquid paraffin oil. All together, with the fire pot that I am finishing, I will have a great project.I cannot wait to put everything together, and when I do, I will add a picture of the completed set. I’m going to try and do this within the next week or so. I need to gather a few things for the fire pit still. But what I’m so excited for, with this premium paraffin, is that the oil burns odorless, and smokeless. This way the white silica that I have, will stay perfectly white for the long haul.What I really appreciate about this paraffin oil, is that it has a high flash point, low volatility, and is non-toxic. It will look beautiful with an appropriate height of flame. That I control with the fire pot size. It’s going to either be a small flame, or a medium flame. It’s going to look so beautiful sitting on the backyard table, with the flame burning at just the right height. It is going to create such an ambiance. So romantic, or fun, depending on what’s happening that night.The price for the paraffin is so reasonable considering that we are having a wonderful experience of a small fireplace. It is very economical, in price, to purchase the paraffin oil. This time I ordered it in a quart size, I can also purchase it in a gallon size. Just using a funnel will allow me to fill the chamber pot easier, and safer. It’s a perfect combination all together since the price for the paraffin is so reasonable. I simply cannot go wrong with this particular brand of paraffin oil.I’m really excited to put everything together and enjoy my fire pit chamber. I’m very happy that I was able to order the paraffin through Amazon. Actually, I was able to order, or purchase, everything that I needed for my fire pot chamber. Awesome news.

I am pretty big into burning things, and have been making my own candles for the past four years. As it has been so nice out we have been spending a ton of time outside so we have been experimenting with all sorts of summer fire things to complement the fire pit we have been making smores with, we got a few unconventional oil lamps and we have been using paraffin in. The main takeaway is the burn is soo clean.The oil comes unscented and is much more pleasant then a kerosene lantern we had for rustic camping from when I was a kid. Our plan is to experiment with adding fragrances and see if there is anything we can do to add a pleasant smell.The oil works really well but the thing is this provides the cleanest burn out of anything we have used. So happy with this!

I'm a bit of a glass lamp collector and like to have oil on stand by just in case. I like that is is odorless and burns super clean. I think it's a little pricey considering how fast an oil lamp can burn through oil but an awesome product none the less.

This is a very clean burning oil and doesn't emit any noxious fumes. In the event we don't have any electricity or battery powered flashlights, this will surely be handy to have. This also works well as a fire starter if you have trouble getting one started.
