Really stepped up my coffee game and have saved so much money not going to get $5-$7 coffees in the morning. Instructions are pretty clear and it’s super easy to use. It heats up quickly and produces quality espresso. Love that it’s compact and doesn’t take up much counter space. Really nice machine!

It works, but I'm not very good at using it! We've never had an Espresso machine before but this will become a staple in our household. Good size, seems well made, pretty easy to operate

This is a great espresso machine for a beginner. It is a quality machine that makes great espresso, but it is also easy to learn how to use. If you've never made espresso before, you can quickly get up and running with this machine.

We love our new expresso machine. It is so quick and easy to use and give us a really nice cup of expresso that tastes like going to a restaurant.

The media could not be loaded.  I’d always been a French Press devotee before getting the previous model of this Ilavie espresso machine that converted me into a total espresso-phile! I’ve gained a lot of practice and experience under my belt with that machine and upon the intro of this 2024 model, thought I’d take the plunge and get it, too. For starters, this machine is a 51mm portafilter since this isn’t mentioned anywhere in the product details nor in the instruction pamphlet and it’s important to know for your accompanying espresso gear/accessories!Out of the gate, I must say that the materials for this newer model seem lower grade – the machine is SUPER lightweight, and that’s not a bad thing in and of itself, but it speaks to the inferior ‘feeling’ materials, very plasticky face and buttons, and portafilter handle, as well as what seems lower grade baskets and the stainless steel surround of the body of the machine. The steam wand is also less maneuverable than the old model, which is somewhat inconvenient. All in all, even though this is a simple, beginner-level machine, one still wants to feel like it’s a quality unit with quality materials, to enhance the overall enjoyment factor and ‘experience’ of making espresso – a process I’ve come to really enjoy, but less so in this regard with this newer model machine.That said, it brews quieter than the other machine and that’s a plus. The steam wand also seems to handle the pressure and emit steam a bit better than the previous model. I was a little perplexed at why though water flowed mainly from only one of the two ports; that doesn’t seem right, as one instance water flows from just one port and the next time water flows from both – it’s been inconsistent here, and I always pull a double-espresso, but even when selecting the single button the same thing happened intermittently (shrug). Thankfully though it doesn’t affect the resulting volume or taste of the espresso, that I’ve noticed.The water tank on this one is smaller at 900ml vs 1.2L on my other Ilavie machine – I prefer the design and size of the larger tank with a lid on top to more easily pour in water. With this new model, the tank has to be removed entirely from the unit to pour in water, then also exposing the water port at the bottom and leaking some onto the countertop, and I don’t like that aspect, nor the lesser tank volume. There’s also a cup warmer section on top (I don’t ever use that).Being so lightweight, I do wish this machine had suction feet on it (like my other machine does) to help keep it more stationary and not sliding around so much. I’ve found that I must grip the entire face of the machine when locking in the portafilter to stop it from sliding around on the countertop otherwise.It came with two 51mm baskets, a single size, and a double size; a plastic measuring spoon and tamper combined, and the portafilter (of course). Before brewing for the first time, you have to start off by filling the water tank, turning on the machine – IT CONTINUOUSLY BEEPS until you press any of the other buttons to stop the beeping – then press the steam button and when steady lit proceed to turn on the steam wand, letting it discharge into a cup until water and then full steam comes out (this take a couple of minutes). THEN, you move back to the espresso area and select the double-shot button, still ONLY water, no coffee grounds yet, and run the double-shot for at least 5 times to flush/clean/prime the machine. After that, you’re ready to start using it as normal with coffee grounds.Overall, this machine is fine, the espresso product is still good with its 20-Bar pressure (same as my other machine), but I’ll be keeping this one in our rec room as I think I still *most* prefer the previous model machine. However I do think the price point is great for an entry-level machine and I still really like Ilavie, good value for a machine that does make good espresso and crema!

This espresso machine is the perfect size and level for beginners. It is not large but can still make two delicious shots without a lot of effort. It is very easy to use when following the detailed instructions. It makes delicious shots and frothed milk in almost no time and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to start out and learn about espresso machines. I also think it would be a great gift to anyone starting their life in a new space.

The machine isn't too heavy, but able to make good coffee. Not too sure about durability since the material does not seems to amaze me. Simple and easy to use.

Absolutely love this espresso machine. It makes rich, flavorful espresso with ease, and the steam wand creates perfect microfoam. It's compact design and will not take too much counter space. Highly recommend for any coffee enthusiast!
