I have two nieces who are obsessed with Harry Potter and all things magic. They have made wands and are constantly rewatching the movies. I got this kit as a fun activity that we could do together, and they LOVED it. It kept them entertained for at least an hour and there is still items left to make other potions later.PROS:- There is lots of stuff going on here. You have big, medium and little potion jars. There are even hearts, stars, and little jug like jars too. There are different color dyes, glitter, confetti type pieces, unicorn horns, and a variety of shiny stuff to put into the potions.- Most things are in even numbers, which was amazing because they are in the phase of everything being even. Plus, since there are two funnels and two scoops they didn’t have to wait for the other to finish up to work on their own potion.- The jars are plastic so no worries about broken glass and spilled dyed liquid full of glitter going everywhere.- The potions outlined in the booklet mostly only require you to provide water. There are a few where cooking oil is needed and one that is a little more extreme that needs baby oil and acrylic white paint. But you don’t have to stick to the booklet. They made a few from there and then had fun creating their own potions using just the items included and some water.- This one was winter themed, and it did follow that. There is stuff to make snow, confetti that looks like snowflakes, and gems that look like ice. But there is also a nice mix of non-related winter items that they could create other types of potions too.CONS:- The plastic stoppers fit but aren’t secure. Great if you are planning on using and reusing the jars; but you may want to glue them if they are planning on keeping their potions. Otherwise, you will have a craft room spilled on carpet and furniture.- The shaped jars have a bit of a struggle standing. The jug-like ones were fine, but the hearts and stars kept tipping. They need to be held the entire time when filling and they will need to be glued once finished.

This was a really fun indoor activity. The kit came with a great variety of 'ingredients' for the potions, as well as some stickers, charms, and magic string to decorate the bottles when you are done.I was particularly impressed with the colorful, illustrated directions booklet, designed to make it easy for children to read and understand. The project did get rather messy, especially the vials of glitter, but I was expecting that.Be aware that some of the recipes call for a couple of items not included in the kit - cooking oil and white acrylic paint. We didn't try the one that used paint. You can follow the directions or get creative and make your own potions. We did both.The price at the time of this review is $21.98 which I consider reasonable considering how much is included in the box. A big five stars for us!

The kids really liked this potion making kit. They played with it for a while. The little bottles it came with are so cute and it came with multiple food coloring options to color the potions. The stickers that go on the potion models stuck well. There are recipes for potions inside the booklet, however the recipes require that you also have vegetable oil and or baby oil and water to make the potions. overall, this is a nice product and very giftable if you want to use it as a gift.

This is such a cool little toy! I got this so we could make potions with our daughter and it was fun for the whole family! This is a very thorough kit and it comes with so many different pieces! It includes everything that it was supposed to. It comes very well packed and secured so there was no damage whatsoever to any of the pieces. The quality of everything is really nice as well! Super fun to mix a bunch of things together and make your own little potion! Me and my husband even enjoyed it! I definitely think this is an amazing value for your money especially for all the fun you will have with your little one! Got to give it a 10 out of 10

This is a fun kit for imaginative play. The potion vials are smaller than I expected (see photo), but I suppose that they make sense for magic potions. The potion ingredients seem plentiful enough. This should allow a young potion master to have a good time without making a large mess. I rated it 4 stars. instead of 5 stars due to it's $21.98 ticket price.(NOTE: The box points out there are choking hazards in the kit. I think that the caps for the vials are something that could be particularly dangerous.)
