Bought to play with, but they work stunningly well. Pic shows one in the corner of a box that I 3D printed in PLA, and it's as strong as a moulded-in insert in a commercial product. A cheap soldering iron used with the provided bit is fine (don't need a drill-press-like jig to clutter the workshop even further)

This is a brilliant product, I have used heated inserts before but I have always used the normal soldering iron tip. This set with the included tip make installing the inserts a breeze and you get a much better and level seating. Inserts are great, properly sized and work very well. Can recommend.

I find these inserts are easy to work with and they hold the screws in our 3d printed ABS.

The inserts work great, the tip attaches easily to my solder stations tip and transfers heat quickly to the insert, but I find it does appear to be very loose fitting to the inserts making the process of inserting more difficult that it should be, it's hard to insert perfectly straight when the tip allows as much wiggle room as this one does.Inserts are great, but I'd look elsewhere for a snugger fitting tip.
