Good build quality, average functionality
Very impressed overall by the build quality, expected a much lower quality.Functionality is a little lacking. For one, the power on function would not work until the bluetooth receiver was put on charge at least once. Then once connected the + and - buttons do nothing. The grip feels good and the phone feels solid in the clamp so thats good but I did expect the + and - buttons to zoom or do anything at all. It may be due to my phone, I am using Google Pixel 7 Pro on Android 14. However, it still does what I want it to do which is give a better grip for taking photos. There is no lag on input either which is great. It also has a cold shoe mount on top and can be mounted on a tripod underneath.Another minor annoyance is the fact that the bluetooth receiver is a separate charge port from the in-built light, but that is due to the bluetooth receiver being able to be taken off the device to be used remotely so the two have to have separate batteries. The inbuilt light is bright white not warm white but is fairly powerful overall.I got this device at £18 so I am very happy with it for this price, only real downside is no functionality for the + and - buttons possibly to do with the make of my phone. Would still recommend for price :)

Takes mobile phone photography to another level
For most of my life I have used good quality, pro level cameras for photography and only use my phone for the odd snapshot. However this camera grip is making me re-assess that view.It fits nicely on my flagship Samsung Galaxy phone. The video light is surprisingly good and acts as a nice fill light. For product photography I found it casts shadows just as it would if you used a flash (see last photo)The shutter button is detachable meaning you can operate the camera without even touching your phone. Whilst likely designed for selfies, i am finding it great for product photography.Battery life is decent.Hot shoe mount would be perfect for using a microphone withTripod mount finishes this off making it the best accessory you could possibly by for your camera phone.Only thing I don't like is the zoom action is not smooth, but jumps from one step to another meaning its slow for photography and unusable for video (at least on my Samsung Ultra)5 stars does not seem enough for this!(photos taken attached to my old Microsoft phone)

Smartphone Camera Grip
This product was sent to me to review, as part of Amazon Vine. Below is my own real-world experience of using it.In terms of physical quality, it appears to be well-made - the construction is robust, with a sleek finish. It has a nice little bit of weight to it, and an ergonomic hand grip that has a rubberised texture. The attachment clips for the phone are very flexible - I was able to attach them to my iPhone 15 Pro Max (in its case), with no issues.Unfortunately, I could not pair the device to my phone - despite it being sent to me brand new and sealed, the unit I received was acting as if it had already been paired to another device, ie. it did not enter the ‘pairing mode’, so could not be discovered by my phone. I tried power cycling it a few times, to no avail. Having checked the manual, I couldn’t find any detail on how to reset/clear the stored device, which was frustrating, as I was looking forward to trying it out with my camera. I did try holding down all of the buttons in various combinations, just in case I could somehow figure it out, but it wasn’t to be.Aside from the that, the ‘fill light’ would still be useful - it’s very bright, and has some good customisation, though I wish there was a way to fully turn it off.In summary, it’s potentially a handy item - if you can get it to work properly.

Charge it before you start...
This is a very capable camera grip for smartphones and paired well with my iPhone 15 Pro Max in a case (mous) so it has the capacity to deal with larger phones. The grip naturally falls on the right of the phone for right handed use and provides a bluetooth button for shutter release but the + and - buttons don't appear to have any effect in iOS...Both the wireless remote and the main battery benefit from being charged (USB-C thankfully!) before attempting to use them and for me the remote arrived with no charge. You also need to press the wake button for both the remote and the fill light for about 3-4s before either will turn on/off.The fill light has three settings from moderate to bright to blinding... and if you need to, the remote will start and stop video recording too - is is detachable so you can full remotely control your phone and the 1/4" 20tpi thread on the bottom is industry standard allowing you to mount it on any standard threaded tripod or similar. The cold shoe is another nice touch if you wanted to have a separate fill light above the camera/phone.With my case and the camera grip, this takes me back to my SLR days and the feel of a physical button on top of the grip is great when you have framed the subject and don't want to reposition your hand to press the shutter button on screen.Happily to give this a recommendation and it will be coming on holiday with me.
