Chester thornless blackberries are known for being highly productive and a bit more winter hardy than other varieties. These blackberry plants can withstand the elements, because the berries also hold up better in high heat and sun. You can expect berries the following year after planting. Chester Blackberries produce great tasting and firm berries once ripe; usually in early to mid-August. They also show resistance to cane blight.
