Exact Replacement, Excellent Product!
Installed this in our Fifth Wheel to replace a bathroom fan. The installation was easy and fit perfectly in the pre-existing hole with no modifications. The air flow is very good, and the unit is very quiet. Remote operation was easy and intuitive. We will be purchasing two more of these units now that we have installed this one to replace the other fans in our camper.

Excellent fan, and oh so quiet!
I purchased this rv fan to install in our bedroom, where there’s only a vent. The fan arrived quickly and was well packaged. Installation will be next week but I connected the fan to a 12 volt battery and tested the functionality and it worked beautifully. I expect the two lower speeds will be used the most, and the lowest speed is practically silent, in either direction. The second speed is just slightly louder, so I’ve no doubt we’ll be able to sleep while it runs. The powered vent cover is an added bonus and the dark color of the cover should allow me to remove the foam insert we’ve been using to keep the room dark. Remote control will allow use without getting out of bed, so this fan is a home run in my book!

Exactly what I needed
This fan fit perfectly, it's big quieter than the old fan that was originally installed. Also comes with a remote that makes it convenient for myself and the kids. Although it only came with a 3" insert the company is more that willing to help you get the proper size for your needs.

Nice Product But Did Not Work Out Of The Box. Plus, Poor Operating Instructions
I like the fit and finish of this product. Seems very well made - and made to last. The vent cover opens and shuts smoothly and the four fan speeds offer a lot of variability, with the highest speed moving A LOT of air with minimal noise. Installation to our motorhome fiberglass roof was straightforward and the inside trim ring fit perfectly.However:1) The unit failed to power up after I hooked it up. The DVM showed 13.7 VDC, so the unit was getting juice. Following Amazon's troubleshooting guidelines, I took the thing apart and looked for loose connections. The connection of the incoming leads to the circuit board seemed loose and the white gunk at that connection seemed to be serving no purpose. Re-soldering could have been possible, but that would have required further dismantling the unit, so I simply pressed the leads hard onto the board and hot-melt glued them down. Then to keep the leads from being pulled out of the board again, I hot-melt glued them to a nearby standoff. The first two photos show this.2) The operating instructions are atrocious. There is no explanation of how the controls work. I suppose if you turn the unit on and it powers up, you can fool around a while and get it to work. In my case I didn't have that luxury. Plus, there is no contact information included in the instructions. It was only after I started taking the thing apart that I found a sticker on the unit showing that contact information. I peeled the sticker off the unit and put it on the instruction manual cover.I would have given this unit a 5-star rating had it not been for these complications. I hope this helps some folks out. If nothing more I would suggest hooking the unit up to a 12VDC source and testing it before even going up on the roof with it. Those power leads are asking to be yanked off the board so I hope the manufacturer makes a simple fix to prevent that.

Better than I expected
It's early to say if this will last a long time, but the fan is very responsive with the remote. blows very strong or nice a light. the lid opens smooth and is much quieter than a maxx-air or Fantastic fan lid motor. It looks nice, like a fan should, I guess :-)I will say this as well: the Garnish is only about 2" deep, not enough for MOST rv roof thickness. Order the 5.5" garnish and cut it down to size as needed. I emailed them about it and they got right back to me with instructions on how to get the right one. Also regarding the garnish: the original size (like the ventline standard size) is to narrow to fit over the new fan body. You have to use their garnish. . it has just one power connection (12vdc) so if your original vent had 2 switches, one for fan and one for lid opening, it will only use one of those power connections. Not a problem, but be aware. All in all, I'm pleased with this fan.

Had to return
Purchased these remote controlled fans to replace the original bathroom vent fans, which were unreachable by multiple family members. Planned to have them installed while having a FlexArmor spray-on roof applied; however, FlexArmor apparently doesn’t stay bonded to this plastic over time and FlexArmor dealers won’t install or apply to certain fan brands, including these, because of it. Had to return.

Luxury
This is so nice to have variable speed and reversible in my camper. Replaced a manual vent with no fan. Had to run wires but that's minor. Quality seems good and it should be fairly durable Having the remote control is handyOnly drawback is the natural dew overnight trips the rain sensor and it will be closed every morning
