Documentation was adequate and was translated fine.Overall, this purchase perfectly matches its description, and I am extremely satisfied with the product. I really like this unit and think the quality is generally better than other brands out there. That said, there are a couple of design improvements they could make and a few quality upgrades. Firstly, there is no power button on the unit. This is not a problem if you have an easy place to wire acc to the switch, but the BMW F800GS does not have an easy way to do this and you have to buy extra parts. A power switch on the unit would save me having to disconnect from power each time I use it. I will come up with a solution later when I have time by wiring in a relay or some other configuration.I LOVE the mounting hardware. It’s super strong and has lots of adaptability for different configurations.The unit comes with everything you need EXCEPT any zip ties. These would be super helpful to have on hand for managing all the extra wire from the cameras, power, cord, and remote.The quality of the camera mounts and camera housing could be slightly better. This unit is a fair bit more expensive than its competitors and it comes in nice packaging, but I do wish that they had spent a little more money on quality parts.Will update with pics and more performance/quality info after I’ve tested it for a few weeks.

Hardwired to the battery is no brained. Please make sure the connection is good and no loose connection otherwise it would go on and off. Quality of the system is fast and responsive.

I have the prior version and picked up the newer one for another bike as I liked the unit that much. Really the best option for CarPlay on a bike. As you can see in the pic it’s got a taller screen but in a more compact body than previous. I really like the update.

Nonostante la credenza che un display installato su una moto possa distrarre e creare incidenti, con questo Spedal CL873 è vero invece l'inverso: contribuisce a tenere d'occhio la strada e i veicoli circostanti, comunica con la cuffia nel casco in maniera intelligente, protegge il conducente registrando tutto quanto avviene durante la circolazione del mezzo, avvisa quando la pressione dei pneumatici è alterata.-Poche, infatti, le particolarità negative che saltano subito all'occhio:° il retro del monitor digitale scalda non poco, fortunatamente l'aria raffredda per convezione forzata mentre si circola;° se usato d'inverno, può essere problematico pressare i tasti con indosso i guanti;° in etichetta c'è segnato 5 Volt di utilizzo, ma a 5 Volt le telecamere registrano con disturbi, è importante portare la tensione ad almeno 6 Volt per aggirare il malfunzionamento;° il voltmetro digitale è starato, a 5 Volt D.C. segna 4 Volt mentre a 12 V segna 11.6 Volt : credo che i cavi siano troppo sottili ed introducano un'elevata caduta di tensione.° prima di andare in moto vanno memorizzate TUTTE le funzioni del gruppo a due pulsanti A e B, altrimenti durante la guida si combinano pasticci e ci si distrae a ricordare.° il manuale di installazione ed uso è completamente in inglese, se vi occorre in lingua italiana è bene contattare prima il servizio di spedal.cc , le illustrazioni colorate potrebbero non essere sufficienti.---Poi vengono i pregi:ampio display con facile cambio di App, invio segnali, letture immediate, passaggio di videocamera anteriore a posteriore o guardare entrambe su visore (o per chi volesse, persino registrare a destra e sinistra, è sufficiente installarle ruotate);la confezione ha un kit di tutto rispetto, c'è abbondanza di viti,chiavette, adesivi, connettori, non manca nulla, compresa la staffa principale robustissima a doppio snodo sferico;il modello è appena uscito,necessita di Smartphone decenti (nel mio caso, Android chiedeva almeno la versione 11 e lo standard 5G), chi possiede due Smartphone può passare da Android ad I-Phone chiudendo l'interfaccia facilmente.---E' presente la scheda TF dentro un pannello da svitare, la memoria totale si può incrementare fino a 256 Gb (utile per chi fa viaggi da nazione a nazione), si possono rivedere le registrazioni direttamente stando in sella alla moto, da fermi ovviamente, il bluetooth è facile da connettere e si possono fare telefonate e rispondere con un tocco alla schermo, o ascoltare musica in cuffia sempre usando il touchscreen (mentre il vostro cellulare rimarrà protetto dentro la vostra borsa/giacca, attivo ma al sicuro dalle intemperie).-Un altro pregio sono i consumi: appena 6-7 Watt in modalità acceso, mentre a chiave girata, ossia con ACC disattivato, lo Spedal CL873 rimarrà collegato in parallelo alla vostra batteria di moto ma senza assorbire un solo milliampere, preservando al 100% la scarica energetica (ci sono apparati che invece assorbono silenziosamente, quando poi si va in sella la batteria è prosciugata da giorni e giorni). La pioggia non penetra nei cavi nè nello strumento, guarnizioni a prova di caldo-freddo-acqua son state utilizzate nell'assemblamento industriale, niente è lasciato al caso ed è veramente un apparecchio progettato con criterio.---Offerto a circa 289euro per alcuni può essere difficoltoso da acquistare: è un oggetto valido, consigliato senz'altro per i centauri che girano in città o che fanno lunghe destinazioni.

I am going to start with the biggest negative of this, which is the lack of security and theft risk, I have an older BMW GS Adventure, these bikes are targeted quite a lot and the newer ones are loosing screens for a past time. This unit is essentially hard wired in and mounted to the dash, whilst this looks really neat there are just a couple of screws on the back too hold in place, not that thieves would worry about being neat, this will just get ripped off with no consideration for wider damage being caused.I would really have liked to see that there is a docking unit attached to the bike and then the main unit slots in so it can be removed when leaving the bike, like normal satnavs have.I love the idea of this, I have had a bit of a play connecting to a 12 v supply and I am loving the build quality and the screen resolution.Set up and operation is pretty easy and works well with apple CarPlay which is what I really wanted it for, as an added bonus there is front and rear cameras and 2 tyre pressure sensors (TPMS) with 12 month batteries which I really like, my GS does n't have that feature and it is a nice reassurance.This unit comes with a 64Gb SD card to record the camera images, I have connected the camera on the desk and the video is pretty good, comparable to my next base dash cam which is fitted in my car.I am concerned about the security risk of this and I am not sure that I want to go through the hassle of removing panels to feed the cables for the cameras as well for it to be stolen when leaving the bike, I have installed the TMPS and they are a great bit of kit to offer reassurance, my GS did not have this feature installed from new so this is a nice upgrade.Generally I do not leave my bike unattended for long periods whilst at work etc so I am hoping the security concerns are less of a concern than the benefit of this product.

The Spedal Carplay kit has been a surprising and welcome addition to my motorcycle setup. I’ve been using a CarPlay unit in my car for a while now, and it’s been a game changer, but I never thought about installing one on my motorbike, until now.The installation is relatively straightforward, even for someone like me who’s not particularly tech-savvy when it comes to bikes. The package includes all the necessary mounting hardware, and the instructions were clear enough to follow. It took me about an afternoon to get everything set up, including the dash cameras and TPMS sensors.The hardest part was routing the cables neatly, but once everything was in place, it felt very secure and well-integrated with the bike. The screen and cameras were easy to mount, and the connections for power and data were pretty intuitive.This unit integrates CarPlay seamlessly, which means all the conveniences of navigation, music control, and communication are now at my fingertips on the bike.
