SofaBaton X1S: The Remote we've All been looking For!
Hey...this is the remote you've been looking for, and you'll just love the new SofaBaton X1S Remote!I've been using it for about a couple of weeks now and I can finally put my old outdated and discontinued Logitech Harmony Remote to rest!Since Logitech has discontinued their series of universal programmable remotes a few years ago, I like many others have been searching for a suitable replacement to fill a much needed home theater void! With the SofaBaton X1S remote, they and we have just found the solution! This SofaBaton X1S is so easy to program and use! After you hook up the Hub, download and install the software, register your information, log into your WiFi - you're all set!Just navigate the app and find your own personal home theater equipment codes in SofaBaton's 500,000 Plus item database, install it, and you're ready to go!I had my system up and running in less than 20 minutes! In the rare occasion where your home theater equipment codes might not be listed, it's so easy to use the SofaBaton's Learn Feature - by using your original equipment's remote and the included Hub!Just click the corresponding button you'll need on your old remote, and aim it about 1-2 inches above the Hub, press the old remote button on the one you want to use, and in seconds you'll receive the 'success' confirmation in the app! That's all there is to it, and it's now ready to use!You can even send and upload your new 'working user settings' to the app database to help assist other users who might be having the same problem you're having and saving them some valuable time installing their own equipment! You'll be surprised at the many other SofaBaton Owners who have uploaded equipment codes to assist their fellow users! This is a superior feature indeed!I really like the simplicity of the SofaBaton X1S remote, and still having the option to access the less used functions through the display and scroll wheel when it's needed!I originally thought the scroll wheel on the remote would be a problem, but after using it for a short time now, it turns out not to be an issue! The remote lights up when I pick it up, and the easy layout makes it easy to see and use in darkened rooms! It's very comfortable in my hand and has a nice solid feel to it!I would definitely recommend this remote to anyone having plenty of remotes all over the place like I did!If you're like me you have remotes for your video projector, DVD, cable box, Nvidia Shield, Soundbar and a gaming system!!!This SofaBaton X1S remote now puts them all directly in the palm of your hand and really helps to simplify your confusion in locating the correct one!I contacted SofaBaton's Customer Service to ask a few questions, and to clarify a couple of my personal concerns on my setup, and their service proved to be vey helpful and effective! My only hopes and wishes for the next version of this outstanding remote, would be that it have a full color touchscreen and more available buttons on the remote screen so it would be quicker to change the menus!Other than that - this SofaBaton X1S remote is a valuable commodity and much needed asset to my home theater system!

almost perfect - review from an average user
i have used logitech harmony remotes for close to two decades until they discontinued them. my last one, finally died a tragic lipo battery death, and i had to find something to keep my home theater setup working without needing to carry around a basket of remotes.i saw the x1s recommended and decided to give it a try. after a few days with it.... here is my take:cons:- i feel like this isnt necessarily a "con" and more of a personal preference or muscle memory issue... but i will list it anyway. i feel like the button layout isnt the best arrangement. the volume for example, blends in with the rest... and its the most commonly used buttons on the remote.- the software is aggravatingly complex. i say that not as it was extremely difficult.... it was just tedious. things the software should know.... it didnt. for example, i had no idea what my ps5 used for remote.... bt? ir? no clue... never cared to check. but it had all the codes... why should i need to go hunt and research to figure it out?- this "con" is much less about the remote, and more about HDMI-CEC in general... but i never had the experience with the harmony remotes, and not real sure how i had the same exact components, setting up the same exact commands, but would find myself in these loops.... the appletv would kick the television over to another input, then the ps5 would kick it back and it sat there flopping back and forth in a never ending loop until i turned things off manually. (for those curious, the fix to this is to rearrange the order of your activity from the default, and add a slight half second delay)pros:- AMAZING hardware quality. the remote feels beefy, solid, stable in your hand. it doesnt feel like a cheap empty plastic remote.- software, while tedious, does allow a massive amount of capability in tweaking the settings.- once you get it setup right... it works flawlessly.- mobile app is a much welcomed change over logitechs old proprietary pc application (and i think they moved to web some time back before it died). app is simple to use and lightweight.overall, im really pleased. my only complaints are rather nitpicky - and its more because its sooooo close to perfection, im rather sad that those few little things keep it from it, but this remote is hands down the best on the market now. id give it a solid 4.75/5 stars and highly recommend it.

Harmony Remote Replacement
My Harmony Hub and Remote finally died and is no longer available to purchase. In looking for a solution I decided to try the Sofabaton X1s. The setup was pretty easy. Only hiccup is trying to get the correct power option. Once it's set like you want it.. it's stable. The feel of the remote is good quality. A great feature of the remote is when setting it down it goes to sleep. When you pick it up it wakes. No button pressing needed. Also like the fact that it's rechargable instead of having to replace batteries. Plenty of programming options and an extensive database of devices as well. Looks like this is going to be a great replacement for my Harmony remote.

Good Effort, Needs Work
I'm glad to see a company fill the void of Harmony. I like the idea of the app, and the hub definitely boosts the signal, but this device needs a more intuitive setup menu with more setup options. Navigating the remote takes some time to get familiar. Oddly, you must back out of an activity and select a device to control it. Shouldn't that be the default once in a given activity? You would think so.I hope they improve in future iterations, but this system's value is around $50, not $180. I'm not looking for Harmony's exact interface, but get closer, and you'll have a winner. I will not buy another one until then.

Great Replacement Universal Remote
The original set up had a little learning curve but once past that I loved programming the remote. I have equipment 10 - 30 years old and was able to program for all of them. What was taking five remotes is now controlled by one. It’s easy to tweak any changes in the app and sync it with the remote. I had trouble with a receiver but I just deleted it and readded it and now it’s working great. So much easier to use/configure than the Harmony remote that was lost.
