UPDATE - warning, caution, danger, mayday!
This replacement brake-light switch looks identical to the original, and fits like the original. And without further delay, we have here an item that mimics a critical switch, but FAILS to perform as it should.What's so bad about it? To begin with, it seemed to work - the brake lights lit up when the pedal was depressed, and all seemed fine. Then I actually went to use the truck on a supplies mission, and had a nasty surprise... This switch controls the solenoid that releases the shift lever when the brake pedal is depressed. With this SDYYDS switch in place, I couldn't get the shift lever out of Park to save my life! After some diagnostic tests (mainly reinstalling the original switch that had worked perfectly), it turns out this SDYYDS switch was the issue. Brake lights would work, but shift lever, would not release.This makes this item a pile of garbage, in my opinion. You'd be a fool to trust this device to not leave you stranded somewhere. So stay far away from this brand of brake switch. Zero stars from me!!!
