Works Great
This aerator has been what I was looking for years. It does everything it's says it will do. My yard has areas of soft dirt and clay. It is able to aerate the whole lawn with no issue of not pulling plugs. I have roughly between 1/2 and 3/4 a acres of lawn and this does / will take some time to fully aerate. First pass took about 2 hours. But the good news is your not on the clock like you have with a rental.I did use this at my parents house who have a mix of sandy areas and clay. The sandy area it did great. The clay areas it did well too except the areas that were completely dry. If you have clay for soil like all core aerator you will need the soil moist before using.Assembly was fairly straight forward. Like others have said putting the sand in the wheels does take time but hopefully you only have to do it once. All in all I would definitely. Recommend this for anyone who looking for a core aerator but does not want to be on the clock for a rental and has a small to medium size lawn.

This thing is the real deal.
This thing is the real deal. I knew before purchasing (it was sold out/backorder for some time with great reviews for a reason). Definitely add sand to the wheels and use after some rain so the ground is a little softer. The springs connected to each aerator pipe post helps eject the soil plug as it spins to help clean it before digging into the ground again. My only concern or gripe is that the handle kind of spins/twists a few degrees in each direction (but maybe that's intentional to reduce stress on your wrists/hands. Overall, highly recommend!!

Works well!
I put about 15 pounds of sand in each wheel and couldn’t move it. So I took all the sand out. It still does a nice job pulling plugs if the lawn is not too hard. I would suggest you use it right after it rains with no weight unless you have a 6 foot six teen teenager who plays on the football team.

Well made product that works
It is a well made product and works. You will need your own tools to put it together though, as the wrenches it comes with would take many hours to assemble with. 2x 13mm wrenches, 2x 8mm for the spikes if you want to remove them to poke out any stuck dirt.It took me some time to fill the wheels with sand, and the sand I used was slightly wet so it didn't pour very well. I had to pile small mounds of sand on top and guide it into the hole to fill up. Might be able to use a funnel or chute like on a cement truck to pour the sand if it is dry.I hit a few rocks rolling in the yard, so some of the spikes got slightly dented/damaged. They should still work just fine. I don't recall if the instructions tell you to disengage the springs after done using, but I did that.

Horrible biuld
Every part that is welded has a hole. It won't hold the sand

It works great!
I’m a 66 yr old woman and while I couldn’t put it together I am able to push this thing and I have an area of my lawn that has a slight incline. My lawn is mostly clay but the ground was wet which I think made it easier for me to do. I have about 1.3 acres but only about 1/4 of the lawn needs this now so I did some today and I think I’ll be able to finish tomorrow. I do agree with another reviewer that it would be helpful to make the opening for the sand larger because filling the wheels was time consuming. I’m very happy with this purchase

Amazing little machine.
One of my best lawn purchases ever. Landscaper charged 100 with his (often clogged) corer aerator. This purchase came, used it once, better job than the landscaper, I do my lawn one more time and the machine pays for itself. Works shockingly well at pulling clean plugs. One bit of advice for assembly, be sure that your sand is completely dry for filling or it will take a while to fill the wheels.

Work's as expected
Got this last year but never got a chance to use it so when the weather started to warm I got a little too eager. Soil was probably a bit too moist, but there are holes about 2.5-3 inches deep. First tried it without sand and it wasn't heavy enough. Made the mistake of filling both wheels with about 30-40lbs of sand total . It worked, but had to catch my breath after each pass (100ftx60ft with 100ft span the flattest). Just did the back and will compare with liquid aeration I tried in front. In Fall, I will pour out some sand and have it just heavy enough for the tines to do their thing and hope to get multiple passes when it's lighter. Really solid build. Assembled easily with my own ratchet and crescent wrench. They do include some small tools but not ideal for me. Found backing up a little to change direction was easier than turning on a dime
