TheCoolCube CCD Color Car Rear View Reverse Parking Camera for Toyota RAV4 RAV-4

The first one didn't work. They sent me a new one. It worked for 5 months.

I installed this camera on my Rav4 4WD - 2011 and I'm very happy with this product!Before that, I tried some other brands which had either worse or just as good image but were more expensive.The big win, in my opinion, is the installation. Since you install by replacing the plate number lightbox you don't need to drill any new hols.In my car, the plate is offset to the left, which at first made me reconsider other installations. However, after testing it as is, I can tell you the view is great. There is a small dead area on the negative side, but it only makes a difference if you are trying to kiss something with your car's back right corner. So to me, it's a no brainer.The fitting of the light took some work because the plastic "thread" was not an exact match. I'd rather it wasn't required, but considering all the other benefits and the low price point of the camera, I still think this product is 5*I just hope that it's durable enough and lasts enough time ...

Unit fit right into the license plate hole on my 2008. Only issue was the unit did not have the correct mating for the license plate light. Plus, it was on the top and connector would not fit anyway. I ended up cutting the old light housing off, with the sideways mounted light, and gluing it on to the new one in place of the new housing. Camera works great, but note that camera is off the centerline so the view is offcenter. Works great at night too.

The is a pretty good camera, and more than worth the price, however after installing it, I'm going to replace it with a camera that I'll mount in the center of the spare tire cover.The original camera that came with my RAV4 worked with a tiny monitor in the rearview mirror, so I never noticed how terrible the camera placement was or that it was a skewed image that wasn't very useful for parking.However now that I installed the new camera that connects to the new head unit in the dash, I see that the image just isn't very usable because the camera is mounted over the licence plate, which means the right side of the car gets a very distorted view.So I'm really not sure what to say here. The camera is worth every bit of $15, but just doesn't make me happy overall.
