They’re thick enough metal with strong wire frame so they’re not easy to bend/warp/missshape.I saw another reviewer was annoyed that the hooks come off of the back of the baskets easily. But I actually love that about them! I’m glad that I don’t need to keep track of tiny screws, use any tools, or have to look at screw holes when I take the hooks off. I have at various times wanted to hang these on a fence rail and sometimes I take the hooks off and sit them on a table. I like that I have options and it’s quick to switch between at my whim.

I thought they ll be shabby but they are quite sturdy

I bought a bag of soil and it filled two of these planters.I hope I'll see some flowers in my apartment balcony in the spring!There's nothing to keep the hooks stay on the planter box (like screws), so when the box is not hanged, the hooks fall off. That's only thing I felt inconvenient, but it's not a big deal.

I wouldn’t call the planters large by any means but they did work for me somewhat. I am considering returning them based on false advertising. They are really quite small and I wasn’t able to use their hanging hooks because they were too cheap and small for deck. (My railing is very narrow too.)These planters are very expensive based on their size and quality. They are not a good value for your money.
