Awesome tool to have if you own a CRKT knife.

I think their blades are made of better steal then this thing is. The unit broke on first use! (broke when swinging the bit out to use)Appears that it may have been a defect since the one end seems to be coated and not showing fresh metal from the break. See image with red arrow pointing to the end that seems to be coated and not showing fresh broken metal.I really liked the unit and the features it offers and thought this was a great buy until this happened. Would have been very handy tool, but if it breaks this easily....UPDATE: Amazon replaced it, and I have not had any issues with the replacement so far. Bumped back to 4 stars from 2...

I thought I just needed a sharpener, but the ability to tighten/loosen and take apart my pocket knives for cleaning is also important.

My Scoutmaster used to say "Don't carry a knife, if you can't keep it sharp. A dull knife is worse than no knife." So, I carry this little beauty. It's plastic, which is disappointing, but I guess it makes it cheaper to replace when it wears out. The bits attached are mostly useless, except in unique situations, and flex because the unit is plastic. Would buy again...

This little crkt tool is great for edc u can change out the bits which is useful it can feel a little bulky on a set of keys but I like just carrying it in my pocket pleased with my purchase

It seems to me like this slightly clunky yet compact enough weird-looking thing is for emergency sharpening (except it fits some knives better than others so YMMV) - and the too-soft non-standard (stubby but okay still technically repaceable) torx bits might indeed come in handy to tighten (or loosen) whatever these might fit (maybe other than knives?) - plus the (mandatory lol) bottle opener (of course why not!?!) probably was included because it better presents the (more necessary?) flathead screwdriver - and the typical too-small probably weak free keyring I replaced first off as usual with my preferred proven reliable (tried and trusty) hardware.Also, this thing is plastic-shelled, so there's that, but that might hold up fine for my EDC (for me just another little wait and see of life). But I do fear the two hinges could easily suddenly just snap if unintentionally stressed backwards much, so I'll just do my best to be careful using this.
