Clear, Engaging, and Easy to Understand
I really enjoyed How Psychology Works: The Facts Visually Explained. The book breaks down complex psychological concepts into simple, easy-to-follow visuals and explanations, which makes it great for both beginners and anyone curious about how our minds work. The layout is clear and engaging, and I liked how the illustrations helped make the information more memorable. It’s the kind of book you can pick up and read a chapter at a time without feeling overwhelmed.Whether you’re a student, a professional, or just interested in psychology, this book offers a solid, accessible introduction. Definitely a worthwhile read.

A Perfectly Fine Overview of The Subject
Well, I say it's a perfectly fine overview, but I'm not a trained psychologist, so I could be wrong. That said, it was at least what I was looking for, which was a broad signposting of many of the well know psychological conditions that people present with.Nothing here is dealt with in-depth; everything is announced, described, and has a likely set of treatments attached to it within a page or two. After that, it's on to the next ailment. Every psychological condition is neatly chunked-up and laid out simply on the page with coloured illustrations - because psychologists understand that you probably have a short attention span. What more could you want?Clearly, if you wanted a deeper academic understanding of a particular disease you would need to read further and possibly find case studies, or consult help groups on the internet, or even a professional. However, as a means of getting a ball park notion of what is prompting particular behaviours in somebody, this book might tell you where to start looking. Also, if you happened to be reading about an individual, and a particular psychological condition was mentioned How Psychology Works would be a handy quick reference, enabling a knowing nod of the head on your part.

I'm converted from the dummies books! Buy it!
Really is an amazing summary of absolutely everything psychology. I'd usually go for the Dummies books but I've converted 1000%. Just started an undergrad psychology degree and this has been a pleasure to flick through, take in a few facts, skip to what I want to know about. Its beautifully illustrated with colourful diagrams and not long and boring paragraphs which never keep my attention very long. This has everything from the history of psychology to mental disorders, treatments, roles of different psychologists and the education needed to qualify. Really is an everything book I will definitely recommend and for the price, to anyone with an interest in psychology. I will be buying other titles.
