Much better than the previous one that I have
It works greatMy welds are not bad at all, very easy to use

Best for quick jobs. Easy to Carry.
Good for the quick emergency jobs but not a professional machine (which I was not expecting anyway for the price). Works well, portable, and does the job though. Lost a star because there is nothing that tells you what to get for replacement parts or what tig torch is compatible.

First time welder review
I am a first time welder and once I bought a heavy enough gauge extension cord I was able to make my first welder without tripping my breaker box. This was easy to set up and to learn on.

Doesn’t Come with Tig Gun
The main reason I ordered this portable welder was because it said it could do tig welding also, but it doesn’t come with a tig gun. It really doesn’t make a point of saying that it is not included and I think that is a big oversight. Also, it should provide a link for a capable tig gun to purchase separately. As far as welding mig, it does a very good job for a small portable unit. It throws off a lot of splatter, but that can be cleaned up. It is perfect for emergency welds, which must be done on site quickly. It is easy to carry, and use. Is definitely worth the price point for quick, emergency welds, or for use in places where you just can’t take a full welding unit easily.

Best machine I've used for flux core welding and more than worth the price
This little welder had me immediately pleased the moment I first tried using it. I'm gonna say right off the bat that you need to make sure you're careful to secure it in place if you're gonna be moving around or repositioning your leads very much while you're using it. It's very lightweight and you can accidentally pull it over a nearby edge if you aren't mindful of what you're doing. For Flux Core Arc Welding: It performs 10x better than a forney FCAW machine I'd been using for several years and paid several times the price this one is listed as (it was also over 5x the size and really inconvenient to moving around due to lacking the removable leads this unit has). I actually ended up having a better opinion of FCAW overall than I had before! For MMA/Lift-TIG: I haven't attempted to use either feature because I don't have a TIG torch and I have a dedicated MMA machine that I use for stick welding. That said, the unit doesn't provide the ability to change specific settings for arc force or hot start, though the documentation suggests it auto adjusts for such, which I assume is determined based on the amperage setting you select. I hope to be able to do at least some quick tests with it configured for MMA, and will update the review if I have any observations worth noting.Leads: leads are of a good length — the torch lead length is in that sweet spot for me between having enough lead to move around and not having too much where it becomes cumbersome to manage when avoiding wire binding. The ground lead is long, maybe longer than I'd prefer at this gauge. It ships with lead made with 16mm2 wire (equiv 6 AWG), which isn't uncommon, but for me is not ideal. The quality of the crimp is poor, with about 1/4 of the wire broken off at the joint. It's also crimped directly to the ground clamp; I suggest modifying this by crimping a lug to the wire end and bolting it to the lead if you intend to use what comes in the box. My overall recommendation is to buy some heavier gauge wire and a more substantial ground clamp and make your own lead using the machine connector that comes with this lead assembly. The clamp itself is stamped from very thin steel — 18 gauge, if I had to guess (maybe as thin as 20) — and I the spread of the clamp jaws is not very wide at just under 1-1/4". The way the wire is crimped to the clamp is such where you're going to break at least a couple strands every time you open the jaws, so expect it to wear out very quickly.Power cord: the power cord is long, but not excessive. It's also undersized for my taste (3x16AWG @ ~8'), which is worth noting in my opinion due to the fact that it's not a cord that can be disconnected from the machine. The power cord passed through the rear wall of the enclosure and connects to the power supply circuit there. I intend to replace this with the appropriate connector, which will require some slight modification to the enclosure panel, but there appears at a glance to be adequate room to accommodate it. I'll also be replacing the power cord with one of heavier gauge wiring. An 8' long cord with 3x12AWG would be a much more suitable choice, in my opinion, and may even further improve the machine's already great performance. All that said, don't take my criticisms here the wrong way — this machine is still very much worth 5 stars at the current $90 price point, and if it ended up breaking or getting stolen in 6 months, I'd get the same one to replace it without hesitation. This welding machine works fantastic and every other construction element I've looked at has been of fine quality. It's trivially simple and easy to set up and run, in contrast to the machine I've replaced with this, which always needed to have constant attention and fiddling with to keep the wire tension *juuuust* right for it to feed at a reasonably predictable speed. This one you can very quickly and easily have dialed in within a few seconds to a minute and it'll actually stay as you set it. I've run about 1/4 of a spool through it over several sessions and have not had to readjust it yet.I highly recommend getting this unit if you're looking for a low-price, capable, and compact FCAW machine, and if you spend just a few extra dollars and an hour or so to make the changes I described, you'll have a machine that can run circles around other offerings that are 5x the size and 3x the price.
