Used once a week for 2 years, lost its screws and came apart
Overall decent clothing rack that got me through 2 years of college. Towards the end of year 2, the clothing rack came apart - screws came loose, bars fell off, and by the end of its lifetime I was hanging clothes only on the top rack. Compact and small, although clothes take awhile to dry because everything's packed to tightly together.

Whitmor Folding Drying Rack
Lightweight and easy to use, however product is not very sturdy. Overall 4 stars.

Great folding drying rack
My old drying rack finally broke and I wanted to buy a good sturdy one to replace it. I read many reviews on this one and decided to get it. Well, I am very happy with this purchase. This rack is very well made and very sturdy. The rods actually snap into place and are not just hooked over. They are also thicker and always stay in set in place. I have had it for a while now and am so glad I did not just buy the typical metal one like I had but instead I really researched the reviews and decided to buy this one. If you are going to purchase one I would definitely recommend this one.

Better than Amazon and bamboo dry racks
I was looking for a portable drying rack to use on my deck. The Amazon one topples over even if there is just a little wind, also fell apart after about a year (nearly weekly use). I also tried a bamboo one - which was too light ad poorly constructed. This Whitmor brand is solid. Sturdy enough to not get blown over but still quite light and easy to fold.

Design Flaw!
After checking out many different drying racks, I recently purchased this one - and was happy to try it out. However, after only one use, I discovered a fairly significant design flaw. The rack has two free-moving pieces at the top that allow it to fold-up when not in use. The two short bars hook onto the opposite bar on the top of the rack to lock it open while in use. The problem is that after ONE time of unlatching the top so that it could be folded back up and stored, I noticed the black coating chipped off from the act of unhooking them. This was the case despite the fact that I tried to be as gentle as I possibly could while unhooking them. Two things probably contribute to this problem. The first is that it takes a bit of pressure to latch/unlatch the bars. The second being the quality/thickness of the black vinyl coating. I like the idea of the vinyl, but the execution is not up to par.It is disappointing, because up until that point, I was very satisfied with the rack. It seemed a little bit unstable at first, but after adding items of clothing, the rack became very stable. I was able to hang a fair amount of laundry on it as well - and it dried pretty quickly with a small fan blowing on it from across the room. It's a shame because it could have been a pretty good rack if not for the flimsy coating. Only time will tell how it's going to hold-up, but I cant say that I'm very optimistic considering this happened after only one use!

Better than wood
I got this to replace my old wooden rack with peeling paint that kept coming off on my clothes. I like that this rack isn't wood. However, with the first use, when trying to unlatch the top piece, the black coating peeled off. It won't affect the rack, it's just a cosmetic issue. Also, beware when unlatching it because I tore about half of a fingernail off trying to get it apart. Ouch!! Other impressions: the top piece is good for laying an article of clothing across it; my wooden rack didn't have that. However, if just wanting to place clothes in vertically, there's not much space between the rungs. Also, this is a small rack. I'm a short person so it doesn't bother me, but I wish it was bigger so I could get more clothes on it. It does fold up to be quite thin, something my wooden one didn't do, so it makes it easier to store. It's also lightweight, which is great for moving it around, but not so great if a big gust of wind comes up. I have had mine blow over a few times. All in all, fairly satisfied with this purchase.

Ready to use it out of box!! VERY EASY to open, close, store.
Love it! Talk about mighty weight, yup. It's ready to go right out of the box!! Well packed. So easy to fold up, definitely not an inconvenience! I fold it when I don't need it and slip it in a narrow opening against my dresser. No screws, nothing to do but open it. Has a little "snap" at the top that your thumb can press. That's to secure it. Pop! You're done!Shiny, hope it stays that way. I've used it for delicates so far. Not sure it'll handle a load of towels, but I'm going to try to even the weight out. That is why I gave 4****Def not for a comforter.Love it

REALLY wide! Nice and stable. Great for our diapers.
We're loving this. In my brain, it was going to be a lot heavier, but it's quite lightweight. That makes it easy to move around, at least, and at the same time, it doesn't feel flimsy. The sides are chromed metal and the rungs are sturdy and coated in some sort of black coating.Ours came fully assembled in the box - all we had to do was lift it up. The top section hinges over and hooks across to the opposite rung to keep the whole thing rigid. If you're looking for one that you can adjust the height of, though, this is not it.The thing we love most about this is that it's much wider than other models on the market. We use this for cloth diapers and we can fit 4-5 diapers across each rung whereas with our last rack, we could only fit 3, so definitely compare the dimensions as you're shopping! We're very pleased with this purchase.

Arrived on time and in good condition. Very light
Arrived on time and in good condition. Very light, yet sturdy enough for my husbands wet work overalls, and sweat shirts. Folds and unfolds easily. Stores compactly. In use every other day since it was purchased, no problems. This unit also serves as our winter humidifier, a load of laundry dried every other day keeps the humidity above 30%, even on the coldest days when the furnace is working hard. In the spring/summer/autumn it is lightweight enough to carry outside to the porch.

Quality drying rack
I got this to replace my old wood drying rack, It's the exact same design but better quality. The top clips on tightly where my wood one didn't and could collapse all the time when taking off clothes (I hated that). The rungs are solid, on my wood these kept breaking. Looks good and works great.

Finally a laundry rack that doesn't suck
After some extensive shopping, this is the best looking laundry rack I could find. Despite the product description, we've been using it outdoors all summer. We never leave it outside overnight so it remains pristine. Very light weight, anyone can carry it with ease. Highly recommended.
