Awesome Little Device!
Needed something we could use to stream videos and pictures to a HDMI large screen at a restaurant. Bought two of these and they worked perfectly. While I don't think I could connect an External USB drive without using the included AC adapter, I was able to power this unit using USB power from the TV while using an SD card to hold all our videos and pictures. Allowed us to run a continuous loop with our media. Simple intuitive interface with good options and easy to use remote control.

Pleased with this player despite its quirks.
I am a bit infatuated with this player, but I’ll try my best to be objective. Most of the time this device works well. I am using it mainly for viewing MP4 video on my TV through the HDMI jack with a 64g USB thumb/flash drive and when it works it works very well, with full rich audio and a vivid display. But it can be quirky too, and unfortunately support is slim to nonexistent. A few of my files would not play at all, and I have no idea why. On a few others there was a picture but no audio and for those I had to do quite a bit of trial and error experiments with the recording software I was using but after awhile I figured out what I was doing wrong. The remote control seems to have a limited range, and it apparently it uses the same frequency as my Sirius radio and turns it on too when I hit the power button. Overall, I am quite pleased with this unit, and particularly happy that I’ve found an alternative to burning DVD-R’s. It will come in very handy for travel. Recommended...if you have a slightly high tolerance for it’s idiosyncrasies.

Purchase something more reliable.
I have rarely used this since purchase but now it will no play MP4 files from a memory stick. Thinking it might be the stick, I rewrote the same files to an SD Card; "Cannot read this file"!!!!!!!!!!!Another piece of useless Tech.

It doesn't play m4a files.
Pretty amazing for the price. I bought this as an emergency playback device during a trade show, then put it in my kit and forgot about it for years. Just pulled it out to help a friend and was surprised it still worked; it looped an MP4 file for hours. I'd never tried it as a music player, but all of my files were in m4a, which it doesn't support (and the listing doesn't say it does, so no harm). It will play back photos as a slide show from a folder, but anything that's shot portrait mode it will stretch to fill the frame, so be careful. I tested it with a 1080p mp4 movie as well and it worked fine, including audio. So it will stay in my kit and be there if I need an emergency playback device.

Damn, how is it possible?
Anyone looking for a serviceable media player that loops videos without a break in-between will be as impressed as I with this unit. It worked perfect and was easy to set up. I may change my mind later if it breaks down but I tried this as a last minute effort and ordered multiple units for an art project. The units have been running for almost a week now without problem. I suspect there's not much to getting media players to do what artists want them too, at least with smaller-scale files for particular settings. Its just a matter of simplifying the interface, which this unit seems to do perfectly. It looks good too! I think the key is the remote has a repeat button that allows for looping, whereas others are built into the display interface and never function the way you want them to.The other remarkable thing is how fast this company sent these out. I ordered the first on a saturday and it arrived on sunday (wow!) and tried it again two more times with the same turnaround. The only way it could have been faster is if it was being sold by my next door neighbor and they walked it over to my apartment.Good stuff, lets hope they hold up, but at least they cost less than most main courses at a nice restaurant

Save videos to folders
Works great, I had to save each video to a separate folder on thumb drive to get it to play. But very pleased with this unit.

Only works with specific media
The good: I bought this a couple years ago. the remote is much improved, with the older version , I would have to be 1 foot from the unit to work. The bad: *It only works with some SD cards. Anything larger than 32GB's it fails. Any micro SD cardreader fails.*It does not work with any SSD in a docking station or case but does work with the old harddisks.*Some MP4 and MPV files, it cannot see or read.*SD reader give better quality image than the hard disk, only when it works.

Excellent alternative to burning DVDs!
Product is actually quite a bit smaller than the illustrations imply but that's not a problem. Still just as functional. Full of features...the most important of which is to read USB Flash Drives with video files on them and send them to an HDMI port on your Television. Good menuing, very user intuitive. Device doesn't get particularly hot. Be sure to order an HDMI cable as it doesn't come with one!
