Excellent bathroom shaver/toothbrush charging socket
Nowadays, manufacturers like Oral B and Phillips deliver chargers with a USB A plug. At some point they may move to USB C. This power point provides both, together with the traditional two pin socket.Note that it doesn’t seem to support the old flat two pin plugs. I didn’t try and force it in, so I might be wrong. It does take the round headed two pin plugs by the looks of it.The transformer seems good. No buzzing when something’s charging, unlike the old power point. The screwless chrome plate is a nice touch. It clicks on easily and seemingly securely. The item I received had a grey rather than black plastic area where the sockets are. Less obvious against the chrome, so I’m happy.

Fitted perfectly and easy to fit
I ordered this shaver adaptor socket as it includes a usb c and a usb a charger integrated into it. Many bathroom devices are now coming with usb a or usb c cables to keep them charged and this is the perfect accompaniment to those types of products.I have never removed the shaver socket in my home before and when I received this replacement I was surprised by the size but I was happy to find that the existing shaver socket is actually slightly wider inside and so it fitted perfectly. The front plate I ordered with this device is a matt white one and it was of good quality, it is fitted onto the sockets by four small metal tabs and I did find that it's a slightly loose albeit solid fit which will make removing it for repainting the wall simple.I tested this with charging my phone using the usb c and it worked as a fast charger so I couldn't really ask for anything better.I note some people mentioned a hum noise, my old shaver adapter socket hummed and whilst this one does make a humming noise whilst a shaver is plugged in if you put your ear to it the sound is much less than my previous one and stops once the plug is removed. It does not hum at all if using the usb sockets.

Tarnished/scuffed front plate!
Front plate on the brushed chrome is "scuffed". The first one I received was clearly a return as it had taped box, and the front plate was bent where it looks like it was removed after install. The replacement was clearly brand new - unopened box, but the front plate is "protected" by basically something like tissue paper. You can see the scuff marks, which is really odd, as any quality control would have spotted this and stopped it going out. Probably should have some of that "sticky plastic" that you peel off, but it has none of that. Not even tried whether the USB works - as want to plug in an Echo dot for bathroom, but not even had the chance yet.Got another replacement - and it's the same. New unit (looks unopened) - inside it's got tissue paper style "protection", but brushed metal is scratched and scuffed. Maybe it's a bad batch, as no way this is acceptable by anyone. Might have to try a black one or soemthing
