I took calling this item a "silencer" as literary license...I was wrong.This was purchased for a 5Kw Generac diesel with a YanMar 2 stroke engine...it is horribly loud.While this exhaust extention does not help with the engone noise, it made the exhaust so quite i was able to put it to my ear and heard virtually nothing.I can't imagine how well it would work on a traditional gasoline engine...the parts are high quality and worth every penny.One caution, the universal mounting pieces will likely need "customization" but again, well worth it.

Muffler seems to be a little quieter than the stock muffler but flex pipe is complete garbage. It is flimsy and broke apart on the first start up. Had to buy another flex pipe and fit it to the muffler.

The pipe to connect from exhaust to generator is very poor design, when you tighten the clamps, the pipe will separate and tear apart

The quality of the muffler and mounting plate is good. There should be two plates that nest (inside/outside) for walls that may be thicker like 2x6 construction. The hose is absolutely NOT airtight and leaks exhaust into the area that the generator is in. I had it in my garage and tested it for 20 min and the CO sensor I had nearby was reading 250 ppm and climbing. Very dangerous issue!! I had to order my own hose just so I could use this kit. Definitely think twice about purchasing this kit.

I installed the tailpipe on my Champion 3400W duel fuel generator today. Fitment took a little bit of finessing but worked just fine in the end. I'm really impressed with the craftsmanship of the tailpipe, muffler, and through-wall piece. Just excellent. However, I recommend that you discard the flex-pipe piece and use actual 1.5" flexible exhaust pipe. The included flex-pipe is definitely not airtight, and is more akin to flexible electrical conduit. Normally I would take a star off for that, but the other parts were so good that I'm still giving it 5 stars. Be safe, not cheap.

Greatly reduced exhaust noise. The hose started to unravel but was easy enough to put back right. The larger flat Adapter didn’t fit my mine exact but i got it to work.

this was one of my worst purchases ever. the flex tube came apart 3 times and I would put it back together only for it to happen somewhere else. the silencer was not at all worth using, did not even change change the noise from the muffler.

Looks grea5 and easy install. Was very happy, I stalled on .westinghouse generator.
