Here are a few things to consider when purchasing these blackout curtains:Once you put these bad boys on your window, the room will turn into a black hole of darkness that will engulf both soul and body. I cannot even describe the room I was in as black, it was a much deeper, almost boundless effect. Sensory deprivation will set in within minutes. You will lose all sense of what is up and down and feel like you are floating in deep space.After spending 10 hours in the room with the blackout curtains, my other senses became heightened. I heard the pitter-patter of ants walking on the floor. A mosquito buzzed by my ear and it sounded like a 747 roaring just feet overhead. I popped in a tic-tac from my pocket and it tasted like I had just chiseled off a block of arctic glacier from the Black Sea. When I touched the wall, it wasn't so much a touch, as a merging of two souls into one.The problem is when you open the curtains. Even though it was midnight, just the faint flow of the stars nearly burned my retinas. A key tip is that you have to gradually introduce light back into your life. I would recommend buying a nightlight and using that as your only source of light for a few days after being in the room with the curtains. It will help re-integrate you back into the normal world of light.I cant recommend highly enough. Unfortunately, we had to return because my wife didn't like the color (which I loved).

I'll be honest. We didn't want to like these curtains. We buy WAY too many things from Amazon and for some reason this just felt like a strange thing for Amazon to provide. Plus, we wanted to have "nice" (or should I say more expensive) curtains in our rooms. But in the end, we knew that the Amazon Basic products were well made and these curtains were going into our kids rooms so we rolled the dice.These are the best curtains we have purchased. Period.The fabric is excellent and the grommets are solid. I mean, I really gave these a solid once over to try and find something to complain about. Stitching? Excellent? Fabric pulling away from the grommets? Not at all. Hem starting to pull apart? Not in the least. They'll probably look like crap in a year, right? A year on and these things look almost brand new.The kids beat the heck out of these curtains opening, closing, and putting weight on them. The curtain rod will give way before these do.Honestly, this isn't a love letter. This is more an acceptance that Amazon really does make exceptional products at a really low price point. The curtains shouldn't be this good, but they are. When we move in a few months we plan on swapping out all of our curtains for the Amazon Basics brand.

Be careful when washing and drying the curtains. This isn’t stated on the care instructions but hang them fabric side down to dry on your line. Otherwise you’ll end up with having to pull the curtains apart to take them off the line and that destroys the blackout effect.Before I washed them they were excellent at keeping light out of my bedroom.

I have had these curtains since last fall. I hadn't washed them yet and today I decided to do so. I live in an apartment with a basement laundry room. I took them down, put them in a washer. Per the directions I set it on normal cycle, warm. When I went back down to take them out of the washer they were a big mess, totally ruined.

Positively - I was very satisfied with the color of the curtains I chose.I was hesitant about how to "de-wrinkle" them, because they are not to go in the dryer. Ironing them really was not that much of a pain as I thought it would be. We just hung them this evening and their blackout feature is very good.Negative note: They feel like shower curtains in a motel. I didn't say anything about my opinion of the texture to my husband, but he actually told me the same thing I was thinking about the shower curtain feel as we hung them. I can deal with that, because it's not like people are going to be feeling up my curtains. The second negative is that we have pets and they are a pet hair MAGNET! Brushes off easily it seems so far, but a pain in less than 5 hours hung up to deal with.I recommend these if you do not have guests that feel up your curtains and do not have pets that shed. Really glad I chose the Taupe color and not the navy I was considering, because Navy would show pet hair like crazy.

Great curtains for the price. Be careful how you put them on the curtain rod. You can tell the difference from the second and third picture. That when you put the grommets the wrong way the light gets in more than when they're laying flat.

I spent far too long looking for thermal curtains for my Chicago studio apartment so when the cold snap hit earlier this month, I had to bite the bullet and buy curtains to keep the cold out. I'm *extremely* pleased with these curtains because they've drastically improved the temperature in my apartment (so well, that I actually had to open a window to let some cool air in a couple of nights).Most of the things that other reviewers have said about these curtains is pretty accurate:1. They're not going to win any design awards, but they are not completely ugly.2. You need to install a wrap around curtain rod if you're after complete darkness (I wasn't, so I didn't install one, and if you are after complete blackout conditions, you might want to avoid the lighter colors).3. These curtains are good quality for the price.I've had them for almost two weeks, and I'm really happy with the way they're doing what I need them to do, which is keep out the cold!

I was looking for high quality curtains for my new flat. I wanted a brand which could offer different colours and sizes so that I can put them up in different rooms on both doors and windows. I did not want my flat to have various types of curtains in different rooms. This AmazonBasics blackout curtain had all that I wanted alongwith the trust of an Amazon brand. However, there were numerous things that I did not like about this curtain(which I will mention later in the review) and finally replaced it with the Amazon Brand- Solimo Magnolia Curtains. Now I will mention the pros and cons of this curtain separately.PROS1) COMPLETE BLACKOUT: I don't think that anyone has to look any further than this if he wants blackout curtains to block unwanted sunlight. Not only does this curtain completely blocks sunlight from entering the room but also checks the entry of unwanted and distant noises which can be very disturbing at times. These curtains are perfect to create a night like ambiance during the day which helps you take that extra hours of sleep during the day or a quick nap in the afternoon.2) DIFFERENT COLOURS AND LENGTHS AVAILABLE: The AmazonBasics blackout curtain comes in White, Taupe, Smoke Blue, Light Grey, Dark Grey, Seafoam Green, Black, Navy and Biege colours in 5.25(set of 2 for ₹1899), 7(set of 2 for ₹1499) and 8(set of 2 for ₹1299) feet lengths with a width of 52 inches. This wide range of colours allows you to decorate your entire house with same quality curtains to avoid a piecemeal decoration.3) TIEBACKS INCLUDED: This curtain comes with tiebacks which gives you the added benefit of doing your curtain in a stylish manner to add that charm and grace to your room during any special occasion.4) HEAVY MATERIAL: This double panelled curtain is so sturdy that it does not flutter with the fan wind. It stays in its place and the darkness of your room remains intact so that there is no disturbance in your room.CONS1) I don't think this curtain is fit for interior decoration. It has a very commercial kind of look which can spoil the aesthetics of your home. It only solves the purpose of blocking light and hence, it cannot be used as a theme curtain because we do not have to block light everywhere. Most of the people who saw it for the first time said that it looked like a hospital curtain.2) Although the company claims that the curtain is machine washable but just by the look of its material it doesn't seem so. Many other buyers have complained about the curtain getting discolored or the fabric getting torn upon machine washing( I did not wash my curtain).3) Although the curtain comes with tiebacks so that we can settle the crease at one place for an elegant look but the quality of the curtain is such that the crease doesn't stay in its place. The material is too heavy to sustain any crease for long and the curtain ends up looking really messy with its high ability to pick up wrinkles.4) The concept of the Rod Pocket is a disaster to say the least. The curtain does not slide freely on the road eventhough I put it up on an AmazonBasics rod. Moreover, you will have to make the crease each time you slide the curtain. Its only good that these curtains are used on windows which never have to be opened and neither the curtains have to be sliden.

Great product, good strong fiber.Keep in mind that Black means very dark Color.These are really dark blue as I expected, and beige or creamy white, on the inside.They are as expected stiff and wrinkled when they arrive.I suggest using enough panels to allow folds to form, and not just pull them flat.I used 4 (52" x 84") panels (2 packs) for a 144" fully extended.And 4 (52" x 84") panels (2 packs) for a 96". Same type rod as 144" but minimal extension .I found they both look good, but preffere the 96" look, with more folds.For a great look.Use 2 panels, for each side of the middle mounting bracket for a 96" rod. (2 packs)Use 3 panels, for each side of the middle mounting bracket for a 144" rod. (3 packs)Even numbers on both sides looks better when opened.So you don't want uneven numbers, unless the situation forces it.If mounting a rod be sure to place the middle mounting bracket in the exact middle.Just remember to think about the positioning of the open and closed panels .Warning about washing----------------------------You may want to just Iron and not wash, I personally always wash new fabrics, but..Washing softens at the cost of yellower backing and a bit of wear.I just washed them in cold water, and tumble dried a low temp.They got much softer.The wrinkling is normal, and will go away after a little while.Or just use a steam iron, as is the usual way to touch up curtains.I washed these in cold water and dried my panels 3 at a time in large machines.Dried at lowest heat, and turned them around a bit midway.First 2 or 3 loads went great.But, I thought that these panels would not have any lint.So I neglected to empty the lint tray, to my surprise, they do have a lot of lint on first wash .As a result, the dryer got much hotter then I expected.Hot enough to melt the rubber backing together, the damage was minimal.2 fingertip sized spots, with holes in the rubber and some discoloration. (My Bad)These panels shrank to a different length then the others, but not much.So I suggest.Low temp or air tumble, and clean lint tray, also 2 panels at a time, might be better.They are easy to dry since the backing is rubber, so don't worry about it taking forever keep it cool.And use the same exact way for all the panels so they endup the same.That's my opinion , I hope it's helpful.

The material is 100/100. I ordered a set first to check how it is and then the second set.. seeing the quality. But i m so disappointed because of the different lenghts...none of it exactly 7 ft. The first set was 82 inches and just slight difference in both curtain's height ...and in the second set one is 80 and other is 81...and also....there is not even an inch margin that i could open and use! It destroys the whole look and because they are blackout, the light comes so bright from the space left near the floor! Other people or brands give atleast 4-5 inches of extra margin always..but leave about extra here...they haven't given proper 7ft.
