Darn good alternative to OEM ink.
We have bought this replacement ink once before and had good results. Print quality, color accuracy, color depth and density all seem to be roughly equivalent to Epson for every day printing. Here are our observations when comparing original Epson to this 3rd party equivalent brand:Within our own organization, our print jobs fall roughly within one of two separate use cases.#1 - everyday printing - this use case relies on inexpensive, thin 20 lb. copy paper. Print quality is adequate using either original or this 3rd party ink. The paper itself, though, is uncoated and therefore is prone to slight ink bleed, regardless of the type of ink used. Again, this is a reflection of the paper and NOT the ink.#2 - high quality printing - these are print jobs where the quality of the printing is of greater importance. Examples include things like board of directors meeting packets, small posters or marketing materials, a monthly calendar-style handout showing our daily menu (I work for a nonprofit called Meals on Wheels) printed on one side and a monthly nutrition education infographic on the reverse side. We usually use a much better quality of paper for these kinds of print jobs, where the paper is heavier 28 or 30 lb. paper that is made for inkjet printing. These kinds of inkjet-specific papers are coated with some sort of finish that makes the paper less porous and therefore much less prone to ink bleed. These documents are generally printed in "HIGH" print quality (setting on the printer), which prints more slowly and accurately, for cases where the finished print quality is of greater importance. In these high quality print job cases, this particular ink performed very well but very close scrutiny leads me to believe that the original Epson ink produces a slightly better print with colors that are a little brighter and more vivid. However, I cannot say that the difference is substantial. On the contrary, the difference, if any, is very subtle, and depending on how much color is being used, you may not notice any difference at all.The reason for taking off one star is because of the one thing that really separates the original Epson ink from this brand, and that is the fact that the original Epson ink bottles have been idiot-proofed by way of "keyed" ink bottles. What I mean by this is that the Epson ink bottles have a "fitting" on the end of the bottle. The fitting controls how the bottle is connected to the ink tank in such a way as to eliminate any drips and minimizes any mess. The original ink bottles are also "keyed" such that you cannot accidentally put the wrong color of ink in the tank.....the yellow bottle is "keyed" and will only fit into the yellow ink tank. And this is where the difference is apparent, because this 3rd party ink bottle is NOT keyed. Although the bottle is similarly designed to minimize drips and messes, it is not KEYED for the color. And even though it is GLARINGLY OBVIOUS what color is the bottle, somehow this idiot (meaning me, Mr. Idiot) managed to accidentally begin filling the yellow ink tank with magenta ink. Even though I noticed my error almost immediately, the small amount of magenta ink that had been added to the yellow tank was enough to cause the next 1,000 pieces of paper (that used yellow) to be printed with a salmon/terracotta color. Unfortunately, I don't believe there is an easy way to empty the ink tank (probably because Epson had gone to a lot of effort to make this almost impossible to do in the first place) so, in the absence of knowing any better way to rectify the situation, I ended up creating a MS Word document that was a solid rectangle of yellow, filling the whole page. So I printed 2000 copies (2-sided,making 1000 pieces of paper, or 2 full reams) of this to empty out the yellow tank. Although this took some time to accomplish, it did the trick. Once it was empty and had been refilled with the proper color, the printing went back to looking normal. So the lesson here is that this ink works surprisingly well.....maybe not 100% as well as the Epson, but pretty darn well. But, depending on the person who will be doing the filling of the ink tanks, and their attention to detail (or lack thereof), the Epson may be a smarter choice, even it it isn't practically or appreciably better.

Perfect!
I love our eco tank printer. I go through a lot of ink with my crafting and it makes it so much easier. This ink works well and I don't see any difference in the printed pages from when I was using the name brands except in my wallet.

I print paperback books
I make professionally finished short run paperback books for unpublished authors. I go through tons of ink on my large format Epson printer. Ink has to be reliable and non clogging, with reasonable color accuracy.Covers are full bleed gloss finish full color and drink ink. The internal pages are printed on regular bond paper. They come out crisp and no bleed in the text. The pages are instant drying and the cover gets a bit longer, depending on the photo gloss coated card stock in use. This ink fits the job and performs flawlessly at a fraction of the cost (around 25%) of OEM ink.
