Great bed for the money!
I ordered 2 of these hodedah captain twin beds in black. Both arrived reasonably quick and in good condition. Each bed comes in 2x fairly large, heavy boxes. the boxes got a little torn up, but out of all 4 boxes I received I only found 1 minor scuff on a single panel. It was minor enough to not even worry with. The packaging seems sufficient nonetheless. I was worried about all the comments complaining about the poor instructions, and 8 hour build time. Either they have made improvements, or I am handier than most because I found the instructions to be fine. There are a lot of parts, but it is manageable.I built both beds in roughly 6 hours total. I completed the first bed in about 4 hours. I had to move the 2 end rails for the drawers, but that was the only issue. It took just a few minutes to move the 2 rails 1 hole over. I saw a few comments stating the holes for the rails were not there at all. That wasn't the case for me. I just chose the wrong holes on the rail itself. That was my mistake regardless. After that, I jumped right into building the 2nd bed. It only took roughly 2 hours since I had a feel for it, and didn't have to study the instructions as much.Overall, the beds seem sturdy. For the price you are obviously getting all composite wood, but it has a nice look to it. Each drawer even have a hefty center support that makes them feel really solid. I chose not to screw in the mattress support boards, so we can access the hidden storage area behind the drawers. It's not easy to access, but it is a large area worth utilizing. My boys love the beds, and they have already decorated their headboards, and made charging stations. I'm happy with the purchase!

This mo fo takes forever to assemble
This is a very sturdy bed. Although, this damn thing took us more than 8+ hours and two day's to assemble. We started at noon Saturday and finished the bed frame and drawers by 8 pm. Decided to tackle the head board Sunday. Mind you there were two adults working on it. The instructions are worthless. Just a bunch of arrows going this way and that apparently trying to show something but shows nothing. The time stated of 120 minutes is absurd! Directions have you pre assemble all parts then put together. After all was done we did have a beautiful bed for our daughter, but my goodness it was a chore, and a literal pain in the butt and back!Update: it is now 3 weeks later and just assembled the headboard. The directions are pure crap! This bed assembly will take every ounce of patience and sanity from you. If you don’t already have a reservation at the loony bin, make one! By the time you have figured out how to put this damn thing together, just to find out have to completely rearrange the thing to fit the bedroom wall it’s wanted on. You willLoose your F***** mind. I’m over it and the whole damn thing. Ready to smash it to pieces and send the F***** back!

Looks nice but
Updating and adding a star. Finally got it put together. Has plastic dowles instead of wood, which do not hold up as well. We bought this for my mother-in-law who is moving into an assisted living home and it was the right size and she needed storage space for her room.Is this worth the dollars? Meh. This was just the one I could get here by move in date. I will say once we got it put together it was sturdier than we thought it was going to be. I mean, it's pressed wood.It took my husband and I three hours to assemble and we haven't done the drawers yet. That also doesn't count the amount of time he spent sorting through the pieces and prepping before I got there.*Note - we have put a LOT of furniture together and this is the first semi-negative review I have ever left.

Confusing Assembly Instructions
Even if there is a legitimate complaint that needs to be made, I try not to be hypercritical. However, I must agree with the other negative customer reviews on this product. For someone to pay this amount of money on a bed that isn't even set up yet, the last thing they should have to worry about is missing pieces. The manufacturer(Hodedah) of this bed really needs to do something about their mismatched assembly instructions. For instance: why does the online manual differ from the printed copy one that shipped with the bed? One labels the parts using numbers while the other uses letters, the naming of the pieces are different, and even the measurements of the pieces differ??? If you are looking for a no-hassle bed setup, this is not one I'd recommend to anybody just to save them the frustration and inconvenience I've experienced.

Toss the directions
First of all - a ton of hardware that doesn't fit correctly, Boards warped (Particle pressed boards) - The main headboard had a crack down one side where the pre-drilled holes were ensuring the wood would split if anything was used on it. The directions are easy if you are good at word problems and not all the pieces are labeled. The ONLY reason it has a 3 is once we ditched the hardware and used screws it was sturdy and the drawers were reasonably workable. I paid for a headboard though and do not have one due to the main piece described above and smaller slats breaking in half when the thing fell over while we were trying to get the included hardware to work ( Prior to ditching for the screws)My roommate has a bed like this as well- he is ditching the directions, the hard ware and straight out building the thing. We're hoping his turns out better and has no warped boards when we open it.The only reason mine wasn't returned is I needed a bed and it was too expensive and convoluted to return. ( two large boxes and heavy )
