Mr Beams MB785 ReadyBright Path Light for use with Wireless Power Outage LED Lighting System (1 path light only)

I usually do not purchase AA battery operated devices, as they usually let me down when they are needed, but I had a pretty bad power outage recently and I did order these and some other Mr. Beams products. As you can see, I give them 4 stars for my initial inspection and use so far on a stairwell going upstairs to my loft cave above my garage. When it is dark, it is really dark on these stairs and I am not 30 any more, such that a little tumble down them would not bother me too much, but now, it could really put a hitch in my get-along. At about 3x4 inches these are pretty much the size needed to house the batteries and components. When mounted upright with the PIR eye up, the batteries are low in the compartment below the electronics. This is important as they require Alkaline batteries, which I will use rechargeable alkaline for convenience and if any leakage occurs, it won't go into the components. I always seems to do this over time, which is why I try to not use Alkaline, failure is inevitable. So far they are a nice little light for these stairs, at night they just light for the amount of time needed to pass and then go off. The price is not prohibitive at $10 delivered free with my Amazon Prime Membership and they work also wirelessly with my own recharged batteries. Cheap enough.

I love Mr. Beams. I have these all over my house. I don't like turning on every light in the house at night, and these light up as I walk through the house. We buy AA batteries at Costco or Sam's, so the relative cost of running these is pretty cheap--I replace the batteries twice a year, and we do a LOT of night-walking around with 2 dogs who seem to want to go 'out' several times a night--and never at the same time. zzzzzzzzz3.25.2015 - UPDATE: I had one of these units (I have 18 of these throughout my house) 'fail' after one year of use (it wouldn't come on, even if I changed the batteries). I called the Mr. Beams number on their website, explained my issue and the sent me a replacement at no charge! Very nice to have a company that stands behind the product.

Great for my elderly mother when the power goes out she does not have to look for a flashlight they automatically come on.I bought second set for our home !! Fabulous product!

I received MB 785, inserted new batteries, but when I unplugged the controller from the wall outlet, the emergency light, MB785, did not come on. Cleaned the contacts with a fine sandpaper, also the batteries, but still would not come on. My original ceiling emergency lights, ordered earlier, came on fine. I can only guess that something was wrong with the printed circuit inside the MB785 .

This system is super! I have sensor lights all around the house and the complete system for moments when there is an electric failure. I love it!

Update: After 8 months of use only 3 of 6 lights are working even with new batteries. They were great at first however now sometimes the light would stay on without any motion or they don't turn on when passing by. These were bought for our elderly mom because we were concerned about her walking around at night. Disappointing. Would not buy again..

Awesome light! Mr. Beams has never let me down. Wonderfully bright and motion senor is perfect. You will love it too.

Got this light to replace one in a set which was faulty. Battery cover on this one seems like a better newer design. It works, but there seems to be an intermittent communication issue with the transmitter which I haven' quite figured out yet.
