The Eye: A Very Short Introduction (Very Short Introductions)

This is one of those very few books which takes on a complex series of topics, and makes them abundantly clear for the patient reader. The author's pacing and sequence of explanations even provides the reader with more than enough motivation to remain engaged and stay the course. The return on the investment of the time needed to read this slim volume is considerable, and as a biologist with decades of university teaching experience, I recommend this book as authoritative, continually interesting, and as an splendid example of masterful teaching. It is a celebration of all that evolution can accomplish. Five stars plus!
