The 1 for U Henrietta 100% Cotton Victorian Nightgown with Pockets 7 Sizes

I purchased one of these nightgowns a few years back, and it was lovely, but cut rather oddly, tight across the bust and shoulders. This, at the same size (and I am also approximately the same size as I was then, too), is perfect. Go figure. This nightgown is exquisite. It is made even more beautifully than the upscale brands that I generally pay twice as much for. People complained of the arms being too long, the shoulders too night, the gown itself too snug...and as I say, the size I ordered fits beautifully; perhaps the manufacturer realized an improved cut was necessary. I will sleep comfortably in this. I do have one complaint, and that is that it smells absolutely AWFUL; I suspect flame or wrinkle retardant, which I resent on a 100% cotton garment, but I'm hoping it will wash out fairly quickly, because now that I've seen it, I cannot part with it.BUYER BEWARE: I liked this gown enough to order one in white, and it turned out to be a completely different garment. The sleeves were long enough to cover my hands, and the entire back hem was devoid of the trim that was all across the front. In other words, it is not the same garment, even though it is advertised as being the same. I assume someone somewhere in China either ran out of trim or was told to "cut corners."

My wife said she wanted a "Granny Clampett" night gown.I remember the show, and I remembered her wearing a high-necked, buttoned-to-the-neck, lacy-collared cotton gown, with, maybe, some frills on the front. (Hmmmm. I may have been paying too much attention to her as a child of 10-ish, lol. Pervert, much?) OFF TO AMAZON!After about 10 minutes of searching, refining and narrowing-down, I found the The 1 for U brand, and had a couple of options to choose from.Let's see, now. Henrietta or Annabell? Annabell had a somewhat "Vee" neckline, and I'n looking for straight-up Victorian up-tightedness. Henrietta it is!The price seemed a little high, but my Bride of 28 years is worth it! Order placed!Once the gown arrived, and was opened and admired Christmas morning, The price is right in line with the quality. This is a well made gown. The material while solid, is almost, almost sheer, with out being see through, and once washed, will be soft as baby's skin. All-in-all, a beautiful gown.This is such a good gown, that I'm going back for the Annabelle. Our Anniversary is at the end of the month! ;>)

I always order a large, but with this one I could have ordered a medium and it would have fit comfortably loose. The design is a little more decorated than usual, but that's what I expected. The cotton weight seems a bit heavier which I really like, and the stitching is fine. Won't be my last one.

This is a very lovely gown. I am 5'2 size 8 US sizing and. Purchased a medium. This is a very VERY LOOSE "flowy" fit. This is not figure flattering. I am over half way through my pregnancy and will be able to wear this gown full term. This gown is so comfortable. The pockets are so convenient! I love that the top buttons down. This will make nursing in it very easy.

Love the design and the size fit perfectly for size 16 (XL). THe pockets are nice and deep. However, the sleeves are long and wide. I am concerned the will get very dirty, catch on things, and be unsafe around the stove. I am going to shorten them and put a button or tie on so they will not be in the way as I see this more as a winter round the house gown than for sleeping.

This is my all time favorite nightgown. The lace and detailing are simply beautiful. I feel transported back to a simpler time. It is quite roomy-I read other reviews and ordered a size down,and I am happy with the fit. I loved it so much I bought one for my sister!

You feel more beautiful and feminine just wearing this. It is so wonderful to wear something that reflects an old world quietness and civility in this impersonal computer age. I enjoy nature, a cup of hot tea, a good book by Austin, PBS, people who are kind, considerate and well mannered; and somehow wearing this after a long day in the office is like a balm for the mind and accesses and satisfies a part of my spirit that yearns for the refined and being feminine. I purchased 7 gowns and a robe and I am absolutely delighted with each one. I intend to purchase more.I appreciate the company for making these beautiful gowns available to the public and at such a reasonable price.

Lovely loose cotton full sleeved nightdress just as I had wanted. The only problem is the fabric or the quality of it, I already have the exact same nightdress and have found that after a few washes - washed on 30degrees the nightdress is already looking tired and faded, the fabric has become thinner and the lovely pink flower pattern is barely there, hence why I have needed to purchase a new one. It appears the cotton is not as good quality as a white nightdress that I have of similar styling, that washes in 60 degrees occassionally to bring back brightness and the cotton of that is excellent as it does not need ironing and the fabric remains thick and of excellent quality which feels lovely to wear, it is definitely 100% cotton and of premium quality unlike this nightdress where th cotton is of low quality and not able to withstand low temp washes. Disappointed as the nightdress is quite expensive at £30.

This has to be the most comfortable nightie I have ever worn. There is plenty of room to turn over in bed without being restricted by a nightie. It is cool in the hot weather because there is enough fabric to prevent skin sticking to skin and causing sweatiness. You might think long sleeves in summer would be too hot but that really isn't the case. Delightfully cool and comfortable. I bought a second one, and intend to buy a third come payday because after this I don't want to wear any other nightie.

This is a truly beautiful and well-made nightdress: for the sexy puritan look. Thank you for taking the time to make something of such nice quality and I will be slowly buying the range. The sizing is good - I wanted one that was slightly roomy and it was very roomy. Next time I will buy Large rather than Extra Large: I am size 14 to 16 just so others know what to expect in terms of garment size. Usually when I buy online I find things are slightly smaller than sized and I would say this is slightly larger.

When it comes to nightdresses, the 1 for U are the place to go. Good quality cotton (not see-through), a roomy fit, especially across the bust and under the arms, so no tight tangling as you wrestle with sleep. I love the style, the pockets, the luxury feel. I have two of these long sleeved, and two short sleeves for summer. The way to a good night’s sleep.

Gorgeous retro nightie in Victorian style. Beautifully made and presented, ideal as a gift or a treat for yourself! Very comfortable to wear - generously cut from 100% cotton and very attractive with lovely embroidery detail on bodice and cuffs. Not full-length on me (I'm six feet tall) but still beautiful!
