Q: Does this have HomeKit compatibility ?

Yes, this newest version works with Apple HomeKit (iOS 13 or above), and also works with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and compatible with SmartThings. If you want to pair the device to Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, or SmartThings, please download and launch Meross app and then search "Meross" in Google Home app, Alexa app, or SmartThings app and link your Meross account to these platforms. Then you can enjoy your smart devices by voice control and app control.

Q: I have many homekit devices but cannot get them to connect when iphone on 2.4ghz wifi after trying 30mins. Tips?

If you cannot connect HomeKit, you can check if your system is iOS 13, iPadOS 13, or above and if your network is 2.4GHz WiFi, you will fail when connecting to 5G WiFi firstly. And if you still fail to connect, you can tell us the issue details and provide us with the related screenshots so we can know your issue better and then help you. Or you can contact our support team, our team will test it for you if need so and they can help you better.

Q: Do you have to use the app or can you connect directly to HomeKit?

Even with only 2.4g config I'm on my 2nd hr in trying together this smart plug connected w Homekit. All directions for setup are very straightforward. Still won't connect. About to return it.

Q: Can the two plugs be controlled independently in Homekit?

Yes, they can be controlled independently. However, they appear to have a security as my BitDefender Box Security system has flagged them as having functionality flaws that might allow an attacker to exploit it in order to control or damage the device. And there doesn't appear to be a way to update the firmware on the device itself. I would personally not recommend this due to security concerns.
