ELEY Hose Reel Cart with Wheels - Portable Heavy Duty Hose Reel and Garden Hose Holder, Great Addition to Gardening Accessories and Supplies

We have had many hose reels over the years, but this one is like no other. We have had it for a few years already and it is still like new. It was a little expensive, but worth every penny. We will never have to buy another cheaply built hose reel that doesn't last. Besides being sturdy, it is easy to use. The hose reels in nicely and it is easy to turn. Once the hose is in place on the reel, there is a lock so it doesn't unwind. We absolutely love it!!

We have a water hose in our garage that we use to wash cars and water plants in the front of the house. The former reel was a plastic piece of garbage that moved around when unwinding or winding the hose and it kinked the hose terribly. Our old unit found it way to the recycling center today. This reel is expensive but the frustration I lived with for so long made me look at better options. The cam break is a nice feature as the reel gets some momentum going as you unwind the hose. The cam break applies force against the reel so no excess hose is spun off the reel after you stop pulling on the hose. Wheel distance is just right so the unit does not tip; it rolls effortlessly across uneven surfaces as well as smooth surfaces. Rolling up the hose is just as easy as unrolling. The handle is a full palm type the spins freely around a stainless steel shaft, you are not going to break this handle. The hose does not kink during rewind which is one of the main reason I purchased this unit in addition to the unit itself staying put and not tipping over or sliding on the concrete floor (rubber pads in addition to the wheels prevents movement).Assembly took about 10 minutes and they provide some pretty good tools although I used a deep socket to speed things along. During assembly you choose if you want the unit to rewind the hose to the left or right. Although very expensive, I see the hose wearing out before this reel ever does. I would like to see some type of mounting system to keep hose accessories on the reel.One of my best purchases that eliminated many years of frustration - now we look forward to watering !!!

UPDATE 7/27/22 - I received the ELEY garden hose (100' length) yesterday. Today I spooled it up on the ELEY hose reel. I added Kesfitt brass quick connect hose fittings on the short hose from the reel to the house faucet, and on the male end of the long hose for the sprayer attachment. Everything connected perfectly. The ELEY hose is very well made, like the hose reel.We have excellent water pressure here, and I turned it up full force. I proceeded to wash my car. There were no leaks whatsoever at any of the connection points. Even the quick connect fittings were rock solid and no leaks. I added a few pictures of the hose on the reel after I was done washing my car. Water is still on full pressure in these photos. Notice not a single drop of water anywhere on the connections or elsewhere. I am super impressed by the ELEY hose reel and hose, as well as the (non-ELEY) quick connect fittings and the hose spray nozzle. Definite 5 stars all the way around!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The rest of this review is just on the hose reel ~~~~~~~~~~~~I received this ELEY hose reel today (7/20/2022). All parts were there. Very well packaged. Super easy to assemble. They provide a heavy duty Allen wrench, which is all that is required to put it together. This thing is exceptionally well constructed and precision engineered. Everything fit perfectly and every hole, nut and bolt was precisely aligned. I'm in my late 60's, and have owned too many of the cheap plastic hose reels over my lifetime than I can count. I've looked at these ELEY hose reels many times over the years, but couldn't justify spending $300+ on a hose reel. Seemed absurd......until I finally caved and bought one. Holy smokes, this thing is awesome! I should have bought this 30 years ago as it will definitely last a lifetime. I've easily spent double that on all the cheap plastic hose reels I bought over the years. It is superbly constructed of powder coated 1-¾" tubular aluminum. I Highly recommend this hose reel. I'm still waiting for the ELEY 100 ft hose to arrive in a few days. I'll be able to fully test it's functionality (ie - hose connections and leaks, ease of unspooling and then spooling the hose back on, etc). I will update my review at that time, but seeing how this thing is so precisely engineered I suspect it will function perfectly.

I don't normally review items but felt I had to do this one. As soon as I opened the box I knew this was a quality item. Starting with the packing. It was well designed with vacuumed formed plastic cradles for all the parts. This showed a well designed thought out packing system that kept parts from damage in shipment. Next was the look and feel of the parts as I unpacked them. There was clearly design thought and quality in production. Even though it says its made in China it has the heavy quality feel of high end equipment designed in the USA not cheap poorly designed stuff from China. The instruction manual was high quality paper and in American English not Chinenglish. During assembly most bolts and nuts were pre assembled in their parts and not loose. All the holes lined up and did not bind. No extra tools were required and no modifications of poorly made parts was needed for assembly. Assembly took me about 20 minutes. Now the best part, it works great. I attached my heavy duty 75' 3/4" hose and easily rolled it on the spool. Turned on the water and no leaks, not one. Easy to unroll hose to needed length and easy to roll back on spool. I have never seen a hose reel like this. Ive needed this for a long time and I think it will be with me for a long time. I would highly recommend this hose reel.
