My go everywhere kit. Just buy it!
This box has made and saved me money I would suggest this box to anyone from a new tech trying to get into the trades, to a DIYer for at home or in there car.Personally this is my roadside box it has more sockets than any other kit I’ve seen and comes with a lot less useless crap. I still carry pliers cutters, hammers and other tools but this kit has more than enough to due generally anything for vehicle repairs and it comes in handy for home repairs.Cons: wrenches box end is a 6 point, I personally perfer a 12pt wrench so I can get on a fastener at more angles, additionally sizes do not go as large as I’d like In standard it would be great if it went up to 7/8 or even an 1” wrench but this kit already has and weighs a ton.Being said I’ve been a mechanic going on 5 years bought $1000s in Snapon tools and I would tell anybody new mechanic whatever this will be a kit that lasts you a lifetime.

The more I use them the more I love them.
The box latches break pretty easy. The tools are great the more I use the ratcheting wrenches the more I like them.

Wish that I had bought this years ago!
Great set of sockets and wrenches.Of course, it doesn't have everything for everybody, but nothing does.

Great product, bad shipping experience
Quality of the wrenches and sockets are top notch. I live in Europe and we cant get much like Gearwrench quality here. I had to import this and pay double what any one else would pay to get it here. After €190 shipping and import plus the costs of the product itself i payed almost €450, so about $480 for this kit. My complaints aren't with the product or the price really, its with shipping. It came early, this is nice. BUT there is one big problem with it and that's how the package is handled. Its thrown around and given to me like its worthless. Plus DHL NEVER will deliver to anyone's door. The say "we missed you" yet never ever rang a doorbell. I had to go to a store somewhere else and carry this home myself. Now after paying almost $200 shipping and import I would expect a little better delivery and care for a package. As you can see in my pictures, everything was thrown all over and the box was upside down IN the box it came in, so the whole time it was upside down. The wrenches are dirty and so are the sockets. The top seems to have GUM or something attached to it like someone put a piece of gum on it. This is really uncalled for and not typical for me for Amazon here in the Netherlands. I will be contacting support to see what can be done about this. Also, I bought this one and "settled" for the 232 Piece set as I wanted the 239 Piece set, but for some reason they wont ship that one to me, but will this one. Makes no senseAGAIN my problem is NOT with Gearwrench, they are awesome.

Excellent variety, price and quality. Great base for starting a tool set.
I bought this as a second travel set for a 3k mile cross country drive and plan to keep it in the back of my car for any other long trips. I shopped around a bit and found this to be the most inclusive. I am quite happy with GearWrench's quality and price.I am no professional mechanic but probably closer to a 'advanced' at home mechanic.I am no Snap On fan boy nor do i go out of my way to go with all Made in USA tools (but given the choice ill pick made in USA). That's not to say i don't appreciate good quality tools. I have a mixture of Snap-On, old Craftsman, Blue Point and even some Harbor Freight stuff.I originally bought a Craftsman set but was a bit turned off by the odd arrangement of things included and returned it; also almost every set nowadays seems to cater more towards SAE sizes (only 6 or 12pt metric sizes (not both), some do not include deep metric sockets..etc) which i find puzzling as mostly everything now days is metric. As a german car guy, this is a bit of a turnoff also. I was also dissapointed to see even the hand tools from Craftsman now are made in China. Comparing the set to my 10+ year old Craftsman set, the quality is close, but not on par to the older USA made stuff. The design has changed just slightly on the wrenches, in my opinion poor quality forging and even the stamping on the tools wasn't as good..etc. Just minor details like this which i wasn't quite happy with. No sense in paying a slight premium anymore i think for Craftsman. The only draw for Craftsman anymore (atleast for me) is ease of warranty exchange if you have a Sears nearby.GearWrench has a good reputation and included a good range of metric sockets in both standard and deep length aswell as 6 and 12pt. I also was pleased to see a 19mm combo wrench included..this is nitpicking a bit but all Craftsman sets stopped at 18mm and skipped some sizes in the metric range. On any Euro car you will eventually need a 19mm and occasionally you do come across some oddball sizes that are skipped with other sets. The ratchets included are teardrop type and adequate; but if you do even just a little wrenching on a regular basis do yourself a favor and get a good 72t (or more) 1/4" and 3/8" ratchet.. this makes a huge difference and is something you use all the time. I was happy it has a wide range of 1/2" metric sockets which comes in handy for suspension work. FYI aswell, this set is made in Taiwan.Overall this is a good starter set if you are putting together a set of tools, i bought a set a lot like this from Sears which i still use today. Just times have changed a bit and i now think this is a much better deal. I do have some other GearWrench items that have seen plenty of abuse and held up well; so i cant comment on how the warranty exchanges work. But honestly in my years of wrenching i have only broken a non impact extension used with an impact gun and a ratchet being used as a breaker bar... so i got what was coming to me.

Great set, one of my best purchases
I work in industrial maintenance and bought this set as a starter so I had a complete, organized set. Four years later, it is still my daily set. Gearwrench rivals tool trucks in quality of wrenches, ratchets, and sockets in my opinion. I have never broken any of these Gearwrench items and am extremely satisfied. The 90-tooth ratchets are amazing, offer little backlash, and are as strong as can be. I've had tool truck ratchets break on me and have never had an issue with my Gearwrench ones. If you are in doubt, look up Project Farm on Youtube, and you will see that Gearwrench sockets/ratchets preform almost as well or even better than professional brands.
