Cars (2006), directed by John Lasseter and Joe Ranft, starring the voices of Owen Wilson and Bonnie Hunt, is an animated adventure-sports movie that presents to you a world full of cars and other vehicles in action. After the ground-breaking success of this movie, a sequel titled Cars 2 was released. This movie has won two Academy Awards, the Golden Globe Award for Best Animated movie and the award for Best Animated Feature film. The movie also hit record sales in a span of five years since its release. The story revolves around a car named Lightning McQueen, which has a passion to win car-racing contests. The movie starts off when McQueen wounds up as one of the three tie-winners in a car-race. The cars are then sent to another race to finalise who the final winner is. McQueen is aware that if he wins the race, he will have to leave his old car-friends behind and also leave his previous sponsorship, which wasn't as glamorous as the other sponsorships McQueen will be winning later. His journey starts with a tussle between his friend Mack and a gang of street racers. Trying to save Mack from this problem, McQueen arrives at the town of Radiator Springs. Subsequently, he gets arrested for ruining the pavement of the town's main road. McQueen comes across several cars with their own stories of victory and races, which inspire him to think differently. The movie then takes him to the same unfinished race with the other two competitors, except McQueen is now in a new mindset that places value for friends and relationships. From an invincible urge to win and kick competitors off to putting evil strategies in place to simply stand as a winner, this movie full of action, comedy and adventure. The movie leaves the audience with the message that the value of life isn't in the destination but in the journey of it. Cars was released in 2006 by Walt Disney Movies in DVD format, with a U rating. The movie has a run time of 116 minutes.
