Work great
It’s very easy to install. It’s a little bit taller than my last one, but it works better for my big dogs to get in and out now and I love that the magnet on the bottom blocks the flap in the place and I don’t worry about bugs.

Had to shove my dog out of it at first, but he quickly got the hang of it!
This PetSafe Plastic Pet Door with Soft Tinted Flap is exactly what I was hoping for! We recently got a dog and wanted him to be able to go out in the yard to potty and play while we were not home, but getting a while new door with an already attached dog door is just expensive, and so is having one put in by someone else. This isn't cheap, but its reasonably priced, and easy to install yourself. It comes with a pattern that all you have to do is trace on your door and cut the specific size hole. The chart also shows you at what height you would want to place it. We got a size large for our pit, and pit/german shepherd mi dogs and it works great. After that you simply need to drill holes and attach the door on by the plastic screws that it comes with. I will tell you by experience that this is much easier done with two people, as you can have one person outside the door, and one inside the door while installing it. The nut and bolts that it come with are plastic because they are long to allow for use with doors of different thicknesses. we have a normal size door that has a very thin center piece so we ended up trimming off a lot of the bolts. I love how the flap has a magnetic strip at the bottom. This allows it to close nicely by itself keeping a lot of the outside elements where they belong, outside. Though there is a noticeable draft sometimes, its not enough for me to complain. We have quickly found that sometimes we just don't want our dog outside, so the cover comes in very handy in these situations. Its just a simple clip on cover that allows you to close your dog door from the inside so that you can deny your pet access if you want. No having to search and find something large enough to place over the hole, this comes with the perfect solution! Though some may want a darker color, the white was perfect for our white door, and we are absolutely loving the product, no complaints!~Thanx~

Good Door But Small
This is a good door and serves its purpose. The only complaint I have about it is that it’s smaller than I expected. I have a geriatric dog who weighs 80lbs. He barely fits through the door. It probably would have been better for him when he was younger, but he doesn’t have much wiggle room and he’s got arthritis so it makes it difficult for him to go through.Good door though. No other complaints.

My Chesapeake Bay Retriever loves it!
Fast shipping, the real deal. My dog Dexter weighs about 80 lbs. I mounted the door with the bottom of the door at his chest height, He can easily navigate the opening. Construction is OK, it's plastic except for the magnets and screws. Even the nuts are plastic. Installation is easy for an experienced home Do-It-Yourselfer, but cutting the hole in the door is a major deal for the average homeowner. Read the instructions - they are more than sufficient. Not necessarily cons, but some thoughts. If you have a door with a twist lock on the inside, anyone can reach through the pet door and unlock your door from the inside. You will need a deadbolt requiring a key from both sides. Even with a double deadlock, a slender person might be able to crawl through, it's a big enough opening for a med-large dog. See the dimension specifications. Also, I wish I could close the opening from both sides. The removable cover is designed to keep the dog in, but not out - he can easily stick his nose thru and poke out the door cover from the outside, as can any other animal, two or four-legged. Also, the flap will pop open on a windy day if there are windows open allowing a draft, but probably not a problem in winter.

A bit hard to assemble but good for the price
This was a two person assembly for me because of how easily the plastic screws will bend and not want to go into place. Also because of it not being able to hold its assembled shape together until it’s atleast half screwed together.

These doggy doors as I call them are so perfect. I have a Labrador retriever
These doggy doors as I call them are so perfect. I have a Labrador retriever, who is very large, 90 pounds to be exact. That being said, he can be rather clumsy. he has these awesome large paws and head. The directions were very simple as far as how to measure on your fence or house, I have to admit to being not so smart on installing items and measurements, however I did manage to correctly measure the height for him.Installation was very easy, and again the instructions were great. All of the hardware is included as well as being very sturdy. I had to coax him through the door a few times with a treat, but after that he responded very well. The flap is very thick, which I like because once he goes through the flap goes back into place. I have a white privacy fence installed in my back yard and this matches perfectly.I really like the enclosed snap on panel for when I want him to stay in the pool area and also to keep out unwanted visitors. When I go out of town I put the panel on, just to keep out unwanted guests.I recently adopted a mixed lab, she had been in a shelter for over two years, and is basically scared of everything, however she goes right through the door without a problem, so proud of her!I would recommend this product to everyone, if an old lady can figure it out then you can too!

A few minor problems
Due to the flap is made out of plastic it deteriorates faster than a metal flap but it makes it a lot easier for the pets to go through. After 3 years I had the problem that the plastic framing had broke which is installed on the south side of the house. We live in the desert and I feel the high heat during the summer months and the constant beating from the sun made the framing brittle and it broke in several places while the pets were going through. Other than that no other problems. The price is right.
