I installed these today. I drilled a 3/4 inch hole straight down in the top of the door. about 2/3 inch deep. I didn't carve out where the plates attach, but it still looks pretty good. Close and open the door a few times it leaves a mark on the door jam so you know where to install the strike plate.After installing the ball and spring in the door I drilled the hole in the door jam using the 3/4 inch bit and wiggled it to the left and right to get it ablong. All this might sound messy, but it gets covered by the strike plate.So far, they are working great. And they are easily adjustable up and down by turning the ball and spring housing. Great for keeping double doors closed but not locked.

Easy to install and work well. An excellent replacement for an older ball and spring door closure. Once installed they are invisible.

Picked these up to replace the broken ones in my doors.easy install and love the stiffness of the springs.

I wanted to replace a traditional door knob and latch with something that was recessed. I found the perfect recessed closet door handle but could not find a traditional latch that would work. Until I discovered this. It works perfectly with the door handle I chose. The door stays closed and this fit into the already cutout holes in the door and door frame. This holds a heavy solid oak door closed with zero problems. It opens easily with a slight tug. Couldn't be happier!

Easy to use. Better than those ball stops that my closet had.

It fitted my door perfectly and the design is such that you can make sure it does not fall inside the door. Fully adjustable to fine tune the resistance.

I installed the pair around August 10th, and the install process was pretty quick for a novice. They worked great up until a few days ago when the piece that should catch, the center peg, broke and fell into the door.
